With that he checks over Jaxom one more time, a brief and fatherly smile before he turns to leave the room. Leaving Jaxom alone in here for.. an undetermined amount of time. With the amount of time on the elevator though? He at least had ten minutes.

He returned the smile and waited until his father was out of sight. Then he found the appropriate terminal. With a second look at the door, he inserted the spike, hoping the slicer who had made it was good.

While the device worked with the terminal he had a few minutes to himself, to nervously watch the door or otherwise.

Jaxom looked around the office for anything else of interest or any sign the spike had been detected.

He wondered who's office it had been and how long his father had been using it. There were some interesting things.

[Meiyokashi]

Which drew his attention to an old picture frame, one that was printed at some point rather than played out on a holo-projector. Picking it up he could see the edges were frayed and it was old, a young engineer in a workers uniform standing beside another younger man who appeared to be Jaxom's father. How old this must have been and what lengths they must have gone to in order to get it printed said more about the relationship than any words probably could manage.

However, they were there, and upon setting it down he found a small lockbox behind it with Jaxom's name engraved within. A digital lock kept it shut but as he thought on this he could hear the elevator beginning to ascend once more.

He quickly retrieved and pocketed the spike, then returned to studying the picture.

Jaxoms father returns to the room with a brief sigh. Looking to the seat for Jaxom but not seeing him there scans to find him by the picture. A smile crossing, "Ah, I remember that one," he says, walking over toward Jaxom, stepping toward his side.

"Could you tell me about it?" He looked up with a warm smile.

[Meiyokashi]

"They once were the one who owned this room," he says, the reminiscent tone. Taking the picture from Jaxom he looks over it, remembering it like it was yesterday. "A good one, one of the best. However, they.. resisted new management when the time came. Created the vacancy that I was asked to replace," he says mournfully, placing the picture back where it was left.

"I like to remember them, for who they were, and still are probably, somewhere."

"Do you know what happened to him?" he asked.

[Meiyokashi]

"No," he shakes his head, that tone holding true as he sighs. "Unfortunately I don't know what happened to most of the people who were taken from here because they didn't want to cooperate but.." he looks to his sun, a glimmer of hope as he places his hand on Jaxom's arm. "There's always tomorrow, just have to.. hold on for tomorrow, hmm?"

"I'm not sure about that." he shook his head. "I can understand why you cooperated, why you're still cooperating. But, I've seen what else has happened down there. On other planets, too. I'm glad I got to see you dad, but I can't stay."

[Meiyokashi]

"I.." he hesitates, looking to Jaxom with that look in the eye only a parent properly understood. Concern, pride, sorrow, joy, all mixed into one. "I understand, Jaxom. I knew you weren't likely to stay but.." he steps forward, taking his son by the hand, clasping the other over the top to keep his between. With a nod he says, "Just be safe, alright? And.. visit, when you can," he gives a slight smile, but it's clear it strains him a little.

He closed the remaining distance to hug him.

"I just hope nothing I do ever brings you harm. I love you dad."

[Meiyokashi]

Surprised a little, causing a moment of hesitation before he warmed and wrapped his arms around his son, "I love you too, Jaxom. Don't worry about me," he gives him a little pat. "Just.. follow what you feel is best, always."

"That's what you taught me." he nodded as he stepped back. He looked down at the lockbox he'd found earlier. "I have to ask, what's in the box?"

[Meiyokashi]

A look of surprise settles comfortably, "A.. something I prepared for you one day, when the time is right," she smiles, shaking his head a little.

"Embarrassing to admit a little but.." he places his hand over it, and nudges it just a little toward Jaxom, "hold onto it. When the time is right, you'll know to open it."

[Jaxom Ursae]

"Alright. Thank you." he accepted the box. "This has been really nice. Everything I hoped it could be. And, I want to see you again. But, I should probably go."
