Soleene gladly took to Raven's command and followed with Varina's lead to take out her own vibrosword. No pretenses of getting into a shooting match with anyone when getting close suited her just fine.

Raven leads the way forward, stepping through the first blockhead she enters the hallway as the sounds of boots from behind them clang against metal. A momentary distraction for a decision as the door between her and the team shuts! A sliding woosh sound of metal closing her off from the rest of the team. Locked in this space alone for a moment Raven can only wait...

Trapped, separated from her team, her mind was like to start running the paces but all of that was cut short as the other door opened. At the long end of the hall, approximately 30 or so feet with about 6 or 7 Imperial bodies laid out across the floor Carid stands flanked by two of his warriors. One was jacked into a terminal while the other was standing to his side passively.

Carid too, was passive, arms held down to his side.

"I was hoping it'd be you," he says, without menace or malice. "I have a question."

As the door separated her team, Raven turned sharply. Then once more as the other door boxed her in. Shit. A trap?

Lowering her weapon, her first instinct was to be on the watch for toxic gas or something like that as she reminded herself to be less concerned about the others who had eachother now... and to focus more on her own situation.

Before the nerves could get the better of her, the door opened once more ahead... her carbine rising in response as she prepared herself.

Shit, it really was a trap. Though seeing them not readying to shoot her just yet, the weapon was lowered slightly. This was a chance for those answers they sought, and also to stall until the others could rejoin her.

"Very well. I have questions of my own, but you first."

[Meiyokashi]

"Was it you?" he asks, his voice cold and distant. Even from a distance she could see the heavy breath he takes, the rise of his shoulder and slow exhale as he calms himself. Arms rested out to his sides was passive enough but.. no more than she was, her weapons were within a hair's breath moments notice and so were his own. Though he'd need to cover the distance of course.

It took her a brief moment to guess at what he meant, and she gave a nod, responding in a steady voice. "Ketsu? Yes." Technically a team effort, but that was just semantics when in the end Raven had been the one to send her soul to the Manda.

"My turn. Why? A proper answer this time."

[Meiyokashi]

"I was asked to," he says it like it was that simple.

"I gave my word I'd return a favor one day, it came due," because for some warriors, it was.

"I'm only sorry it's made it come to this."

[Raven Cadera]

"You knew well it would have consequences," she reminded him in a harsh but restrained voice, though she was angry at the thought that they had underestimated her ability to enact retribution. "But it's still not telling me much. Who asked this favor, and why?"

Keep talking. Keep stalling.

[Meiyokashi]

"I did, I just hoped to outrun them before it befell me and my family. You saw to making sure it didn't," he shakes his head, hand flexing into a fist.

"Ketsu was a good warrior, good Mando'ade. Family. All of them were, loyal warriors who wouldn't turn from me. Your husband.. I would have killed him, it's true, but you hold such fire in your heart from a wound. You cut out so many of my family. My answer wasn't enough to satisfy you?" he laughs, a menace to his tone, "Good. I'll take the knowledge with me into the manda knowing that eventually it'll tear your entire enclave apart. That'll be good enough for me, after all the blood you've spilt in pursuit of retribution."

An inhale, deep following with a long exhale. Clenching and unclenching his fists. A semblance of calm returned to him and his voice regained the evenness it once held.

"I have an offer."

Raven gritted her teeth under the helmet and she felt her grip on her weapon tighten. He's toying with me...

"They wouldn't have had to die if you hadn't been running away from my wrath. Hiding behind them and from your actions. But you underestimate us if you think that will break our family." There was truth to her words that she would have been fine with just his death and no more, but there was certainly steel in her words towards him.

"Speak, but I have a good hunch what my answer will be."

[Meiyokashi]

"Your family is already broken, you just don't see it yet," he shakes his head, a low sardonic chuckle. "Much like you don't see much else, do you? Just the target in front and not the scenery along the way? I never hid behind my family. Ketsu decided to take the others and take care of you before you got to me while I was occupied. I warned her against doing it, but she was loyal like that. If you're even half the warrior you had to be to take her down, I'm sure you have a few like that yourself. Like the one's beside me who-"

Interrupted by the one down at the terminal, "Are you gonna smack some sense into him or am I?" the male voice rings out, slightly obscured by both his position and some cover.

"Carid, kriff this," the one to his side spoke up, she wore a helmet that was non-standard. Unique to help form to the head of a togruta. "Let's ice her and ghost. Valkyrie and the others, we can slip 'em."

"Who don't see the bigger picture either," he looks to his side, shaking his head. "But they're loyal, and that's why I'm making this offer. You and me, no one else has to die. We finish this here and now, and the last of my family walks away from here alive," Carid says, stepping forward in front of the group and opening up his arms.

"That's all I ask."

"You're right. Ketsu was a better Mandalorian than you are." She retorted, angry that everyone kept underestimating her. "You don't know my family."

Her visor shifted slightly to the others by Carid. "If I have their word they won't hurt my family, or the Raiders, then I'll agree - then we can settle it between the two of us, as it should've been from the start."

[Meiyokashi]

"They won't, you have my word," he says, raising his shoulders as he prepares himself. While the torgurta goes to speak again Carid doesn't give her the chance.

"You should know they would say anything to stay in this fight, but if I'm dead? They won't dishonor the memory and if I live- I have always been a warrior of my word. So, do you accept?"

[Raven Cadera]

She could barely hear the sound of battle through the blast doors behind her. She'd have to assume that Soleene and Clay at least understood the meaning of this, if she lost... Varina, Raven wasn't sure about.

"I accept." There was no hesitation or fear in her voice. Whatever happened, she would have done the right thing.

Carid nods, and the other warrior steps back.

With a frustrated snort she turns about and raises her blaster to watch the other entryway, making sure no wandering Imperials interrupted this.

Her breath steadied in an instant as she saw that Carid was getting ready to move. Already holding her trusty carbine, Raven raised it quickly and took aim in the split second she needed before he could react.

It was a solid hit, enough to throw him off-balance for a moment. Already one of her hands were moving towards the hilt of her sword, preparing herself to draw it for more close quarters fighting now that she had gotten in a surprise shot at him.

[Meiyokashi]

Carid sprints forward as Raven's blaster raises. Lifting his arms in perpetration the bolts make some contact but are also deflected by his armor as he rushes her. Getting quickly into melee the vambraces come out and he flashes them out to either side before acting with them, aiming first for just an initial cut. Though Raven's defenses are good and it strains his advance he manages to force her onto the back-step in the exchange. Whirling mix-ups with the added deadly quality of a blade he draws a little blood.

Stepping back, she could feel that his blades managed to puncture the softer parts of her armor. Her carbine discarded in haste, the blade left her scabbard, but the move was predictable for Carid, allowing him to sidestep its deadly arc.

Another step back, Raven regained her footing, preparing herself for his rapid attacks. There was no other focus in her mind now but her opponent and the adrenaline of battle.

Carid was precise and aggressive, a deadly combo as he continues to harry Raven and giving her little ground. Tucking his head just around the edge of the slash as he comes in quickly, bending down for the extra momentum and cutting across a bit of her flesh as the blade scrapes across the metal by nearest her hip. Coming down to a knee on the other side he's quick to push off the momentum and turn to face her again.
