[D8 MM] The Mighty Beast

Zim feels she's approaching her limit and, a while after Aanli, also starts to make her way back to the surface. She takes one last look back in the direction Sol disappeared into as she turns back, and when she surfaces there's a frown of worry on her forehead, but she quickly gets rid of it while gasping for air and shaking her head to take some of the water away from her tendrils.

"... He will be fine", she says, partly to herself, as she walks closer to Aanli. "Let's just... keep our eyes open. We don't want something else coming at us when he comes back"

[Meiyokashi]

Push as he might try, the wolf is far larger than he and does not budge when he attempts to push past. However, the wolf does come to something of a rest as it manages to hold him at bay without the need for force. Going so far as to try and nudge him away with it's snout, blowing out air in his face.

[Solork Tan]

"I don't suppose you'll actually tell me what the problem is" Sol settles back, bracing himself. "Why it's a mistake. Why it's hurting something. Please." He finds himself pleading, his grip loosening, though he stays in a guarded stance.

" Give me a reason why you aren't a menace to put down." Gears start to turn in Sol's head, looking for an answer ."I know that you stopped in the swamp. I know that something compels you. You went out of your way to chase me rather than the others so you aren't attacking blindly. I just...don't understand"

[Dr. Aanli Ven]

"An eye open is good, but it's strange the beast ran off so quickly. I'd like to know where it got off to."

Aanli looked for a trail.

((I don't really expect anything to come of this except maybe running into Sol on his way back after the fight.))

[Meiyokashi]

The beast watches him, sitting back on it's hind legs. Tilting it's head to the side in a manner almost like a question.

[Solork Tan]

Sol releases his hold in the Force, instead, trying to let it flow through him instead. He tries to take a look around the room, something he hadn't done in his haste.

"The pit called you a Guardian... so, what are you actually guarding?" The lack of immediate counterattack at least has the Gank curious

[Meiyokashi]

Around the room there was the large crab doing it's thing, moving around the space and working at the walls, doing something that seemed incredibly illogical and yet it continued with some unknown purpose. Save for the sole crystal of kyber there the rest of the room didn't appear any different than your average cave.

Meanwhile the beast watches Solork patiently, it's breathing pained and a little weak from the many cuts and damage to it's body.

[Solork Tan]

"Easy boy" The Gank reaches up to pull off his helmet, revealing the yellow fuzz and sharp muzzle underneath. "You've never seen my face, have you?" Sol reaches out with his metallic hand, looking to reach out gently to the creature's own muzzle.

"I am looking for that crystal buddy. I want to be a guardian myself. To fight again those who have ravaged the galaxy. To protect innocents. And I think I have found a way to do that while still being myself. But to do that, I need a tool that can stand up to the strain. Can you let me do that?"

[Meiyokashi]

While the guardian watches him with a passivity, the assertion of being a guardian only earned a low growl from deep in its throat. Leering down on Solork it watches, turning it's head it licks one of its many wounds inflicted by Solork himself in pursuit of the crab. Looking back to Solork that low rumble of a growl turns louder, until it rises into a bark. Launching forward with the bark on its front paw it hovers over him with teeth bared.

[Solork Tan]

"You must be hungry." Sol rumages through his pack and pulls out a ration bar. He bites into it and then tosses it at the creature's feet. "Being a Guardian is hard work"

[Meiyokashi]

The wolf doesn't budge, but the growl lessens to a more maintainable level. Watching Solork with distrust in its gaze.

[Solork Tan]

Sol sits, rumaging into his pack and pulling out a stim pack, jabbing himself with it.

"Look, I remember the deep part of the swamp. I forced my path, and what did it get me? I want to be different this time. i want to be different

The Gank pulls out the bacta he had planned to use on the Crab to heal it. "This helps with wounds, see?" Sol smears some over the bite marks on his own arm. He slowly places some on his metallic hand and extends it. "I clocked you pretty good, right at the start didn't I?"

[Meiyokashi]

As he works through the paces the wolf relaxes back, but does not allow him near it. That capability of trust in this situation has long since been lost.

[Solork Tan]

"No? Well, I'm trying" Sol packs his stuff pack up and pops a respirator into his mouth." That Crab isn't going anywhere. "

He moves back under the water, now not needing to worry about running out of breath

And I really don't want to kill you. I made two promises of things I wanted: to defend those who needed it and save people like me. I don't know about saving you, but this cuts a bit too close

[Meiyokashi]

At the assertion of the Crab not going anywhere, the perceived threat, the beast stands up again and growls, stepping forward to back Sol off toward the water.

[Solork Tan]

"Are you going to follow me back to dry land Mr. Wolf?" Sol asks, moving into the water and looking back. "Will you attack me when I offer no harm, but choose to go where I please?"

" If that what guarding the innocent means to you?"

[Meiyokashi]

The beast merely stalks him until he leaves, that low growl inspiring the acknowledgement of it's dislike with Sol's presence.

[Solork Tan]

Sol drops into the water, pulling out a glow rod to explore the shallows of the tunnel that he could not while in the rush for air.

"I hope I'm doing the right thing, walking away like this. Maybe if it dropped a crystal inside there's one in the shallows as well. Worst case, I can tell the Doc and Zim that I'm ok"

[Meiyokashi]

Spending time, he woudlnt' find anything in the shallows. Just the path back toward his compatriots.

Sol goes back to the surface waving them back to shore before heading back to the cavern, peeking his head up to see where the wolf is
