Deonis shook his head "to the best of my knowledge. No. My people as a whole mostly died off thousands of years ago. From what I understand where I was taken was a small commune on a backwater planet. I have no traditions and no relics to reclaim. I suppose my job is just to be the best example of my people I can be." His voice wasn't sad but rather resolute and accepting of his lack of heritage

"I'm sorry that happened to you - to be taken away from your home like that," she offered her sympathies sincerely, as someone who understood how hurtful it could be.

"May I ask what sort of example? What would be the best example of your kin?"

[Deonis Harik]

Deonis shrugged "do my best to be honorable. I trade in violence but doesn't mean I can't still establish us as an honorable people. Fight oppression. Help people who can't help themselves. Live my best life really."

[Raven Cadera]

"I suppose that makes sense. Living a good and honorable life. Have you given any thought to how you want to accomplish this, then?" she asked as she found a place to down, giving her arm a roll to feel out the stifness of an old injury.

"The Resistance here will probably need help for the foreseeable future, unless they're driven off Bellionas. Just because we're coming to a climax now in this game they've played so far doesn't mean it will be over nescessarily. You could probably put down roots here to help them, if you wished."

He shrugged once more "not certain. Time will tell. Tomorrow will reveal a lot. Might stay here. might have to move around." He leaned against a rail "what of you Raven? What will you and your people do?"

[Raven Cadera]

"After tonight, and tomorrow, those who are here with me and myself will most likely return to our Enclave. To rest and recover from the battles fought. I suspect we will still be in contact with members of the Resistance, opening up avenues for our warriors to lend aid when possible in the future and continue working with them."

That was her official statement on the subject, delivered a bit like a soldier. "As for myself, honestly, I want to be able to spend some time with my partner before heading out again. There is much that needs to be done for our group as it continues to group, and... I'm not sure yet what I will do, but I have some possible ideas. Maybe try to reach out to the rest of Clan Cadera, see where they're standing these days."

"It's good to see the resistance has a loyal ally in you and your people. They, we will need all the help we can get."

He smiled a little "seems like it would be good for you. Seeing family. Just spending time with your people. Do you have children as well?" He asked folding his arms over his chest as he leaned against the wall.

"It's not a formal alliance as such, but many of us have grudges against the Empire, and Mand'alor gives us the freedom to choose our battles as we see fit. And besides, it gives us the opportunity for battle." She smirked a little; warriors needed battle to stay sharp and focused.

The question of children makes her press her lips together into a thin line while she tries to will herself not to blush. It's not working. "Ah... no, not yet. Not ones I've borne. In the future, we will hope for children, but the time's not right these days. Too much uncertainity for a small child. But... I have trained and raised an adult in the ways of our people. Just that calling her my daughter is a bit strange as she's only a couple of years younger than I, but... well, I do think of her that way." Thinking of Dex made her sigh heavily. "Sadly, I feel like I've failed her. Last time we spoke we parted on bad terms, so..."

It took Raven a moment of silence before continuing, shaking her head. "I'll have to find her again, talk things out. Sorry, I shouldn't burden you with this."

"you're here when it matters. Makes you an ally in my book." he said simply.

he noticed the blush and maybe the corner of his lips twitched upwards but only just barely. Then she spoke of a surrogate daughter and his expression became serious again "Well. I'm sorry to hear that. However you're both alive. Time still to repair what may have been damaged." and then a soft smile appeared on his lips "do not apologies. It is not a burden to listen to a friend Raven." he said with sincere eyes.

"Thanks, Deonis. That means a lot, you know..." she smiled weakly, but sincerely.

"She's headstrong, stubborn, and very sure of herself... a lot like me." Raven chuckled with some pride in her tone. "I don't think she understands how she's placed me on a pedestal in an idealised version of how she sees me, or sees how she's surprassed me in a lot of ways. Maybe not in skill, but... as a person. If that makes sense."

"Not that I'm guiltless, really. I'm also coming to terms with the fact that I've placed others on a pedestal and made a divide between us in my mind, where I should have been... " she paused once more, trying to sort out her thoughts, "I should've seen them too as people. Fallible, emotional, not... invincible or to a higher standard."

"If any of that makes sense?"

He nodded slowly "I think. It is natural to put our teachers on a pedestal. We see them as more than us. It can be a hard day when we realize they are just people. Some worse than others." he steps closer placing a large hand on her shoulder "She has a good teacher. She'll realize it one day."
