[D8 MM] The Mighty Beast

[Meiyokashi]

Given the time to swim back and forth, the wolf is resting within. Curled up a little as it tends itself.

[Solork Tan]

Bracing himself, Sol pulls the flaregun out of the wilderness kit, readying it for right when he's recognized as returning, preparing to use it as a distraction for a split second as he charges back at the crystal

[Meiyokashi]

As the flare shoots off and Sol rushes for the Crystal he's thrown aside by the massive mass of the creature barreling into him and throwing him to the ground. Standing above it looks down on him growling viciously.

[Solork Tan]

"I tried"

Sol is on his back and thrusts up with his sword at the creatures belly

[Meiyokashi]

A sharp pain thrust the blade into the creatures stomach as it howls, pants, and then stumbles forward a few steps. The large beast looks to him with forlorn eyes filled with disappointment, rage, and lashes out one more time before falling into a heap.

[Solork Tan]

Solork brushes a hand over the creature's muzzle.

"I failed. I am sorry. But I would do it again. Perhaps next time I will have the wisdom to save us both."

Sol reaches out into the Force, trying to notice anything in the creature now

[Meiyokashi]

Sol can barely sense it, largely untrained in the particular use of the force. However, this beings attunement to the force was strong and he can feel the weakness and pain, and then the passing on. Suddenly cold.. it's so very cold.

[Solork Tan]

Sol closes the beasts eyes. "I'm sorry. If you were a normal creature I might have taken you as a trophy. But...you were more than that."

Sol moves to make a grace or cairn for the creature

[Meiyokashi]

There are rocks around for it, but it would take some time. As well, the creature is far too large for Solork to move on his own. Meanwhile, the temperature continues to feel like ice- even if nothing around seems to be feeling this effect it's troubling how cold it is.

Sol moves over to pick up the crystal first before performing the work, watching the water of the escape route

[Meiyokashi]

Walking to the crystal he see's it, the prize he'd sought this whole time and sacrificed so much for. Everything that stood in his way but finally he was here. Even the beast didn't stop him indefinitely. Picking it up in his hand he can feel the weight of it's presence. A beautiful illum-styled crystal, reflecting a purplish color in the light- bleeding, from the tips of his fingers the image of blood pours from his hands and seeps into the crystal. Beautiful violet turning abruptly into a menacing, angry, and violent crimson red.

[Sol gains a Corrupted Crystal. Sol also gains 22 Conflict.]

[Solork Tan]

"Everything that I fought for. And right back where I started" Sol shakes his head. "No forgiveness I suppose."

He walks out a bit straighter, the burden of torturing himself gone.
