The B-Team: Nassian Bulb Flower [D10, EM-ME, Event]

A large sky-scraper building that towers high over the far smaller buildings of the Middle City. A symbol of oppression to many, and of the Order of the Empire.

The B-Team: Nassian Bulb Flower [D10, EM-ME, Event]

Post by Flession » Wed Jun 09, 2021 8:22 pm

In BY8, a crack commando unit was sent to face off against the Imperial Armies to save a civilian from being killed for a crime he didn't commit. These men and women promptly made the way up the Spire to pull off a prompt rescue operation. Though their story remains unfulfilled, your own role here is to assist these men, as loyal members of the Rebellion or soldiers of fortune. If you have a problem, if no one else can help, and if you can find them....maybe you can hire The B-Team.

Event Rules:
Event Type: Side-Ops
Participants: Unlimited (with conditions)
Timeslot: Mid-Evening
Force Powers: Yes, with restrictions

Please note: if a PC rolls in this thread, they cannot participate in the other B-Team thread. You were brought on to help with this mission, not the other one.

You're here to offer a assistance to the main team as they make their ascension to the Tower. You may make one check of your choice to offer assistance to the team The context must make sense within the situation, and do keep in mind that this task is primarily a stealth-ops. Be smart about what you do and how it could help them in their task. This can be narratively written as you doing something before the event occurs, of course, and you do not need to be technically present for your benefits to be used.

Almost any skill may be rolled in this event excluding:
  • Astrogation
  • Piloting (Planetary/Space)
  • Gunnery
  • Ranged: (Heavy)
  • Ranged: (Light) [With the exception of using silenced ballistic weaponry]
  • Any Knowledge Outside of Warfare, Education, and Underworld
Describe how you will be using this skill to help the team. Then, choose a difficulty ranging from Average to Daunting. On a success, your actions grant the team a bonus die for the amount of difficulty dice you rolled (e.g. rolling a average difficulty roll with success will grant a PC in that thread 2 bonus dice to use for a single roll.) On a failure, this will grant the GM setback die to use on a single roll of their choice. These dice cannot be split up and must be used in one singular roll. Destiny and Triumphs will grant a upgraded die to the player and DM, respectably. Advantages and Threats will add bonus dice to the next roll in this thread at a 2:1 ratio.

PC's in the thread: To use bonus die from this thread, please link to the exact post in this thread to your post to help keep track of which ones have been used

Force Powers that enhance rolls will be allowed. All others will not.

DESTINY WILL BE FLIPPED FOR THE FIRST 5 ROLLS!

Addendum: Allowing the option for this event to be used in different time slots, since most things can be done even before the actual event. Just make sure to mention what time slot you're doing this in a clear way in your post.

Raven wasn't fit to go into action, but she could move around enough to be of help to those infiltrating the Spire. Speaking to the Resistance members, the Mandalorian woman took off her helmet to properly look them all in the eyes, as outsiders felt too uncomfortable with looking into someone's visors.

"Today is a day of heroics, but heroism isn't always about taking down the biggest enemy with the biggest gun, or enduring the most, or even about killing an enemy. This isn't a fight that can be won with strength alone; it requires trust. Trust in your companions to have your back. Trust in your companions do to their best, and to make the right calls."

Her voice as she spoke, enhanced by the cascader-pin on her cloak, was steady and encouraging. This Mandalorian believed in them. "Don't throw your lives away pointlessly. Come back alive. Today can't be won if we're all dead."

Her breathing was shallow, clearly pained by the injuries she had recently suffered. "May the Force be with you. Good hunting."

Soleene put her fist into her hand to crack a few knuckles before making her point.

"So, stealth is only going to cover you so far. Sometimes when you're seen, what happens next? Then it's about making people want to forget, indirectly leaving no witnesses who will rat you out. If you look dangerous and tough enough, people will see that you're not worth the trouble and look the other way, taking a hike or something. If you got to put on this impression that you're a top predator on the prowl and if they get in your way, they're just going to be another meal. They'll make themselves scarce then you stroll right in like you own the place...because, you do."

Jyrvess was never one commando ops...but she had planned a few in the old days, or helped out at least. It was an on the thing, but she did what she could. Giving the team suggestions on timing diversions, maximizing threat to pull in the Imperial's responders, keep them on the backfoot and confused.

"The Empire are a disciplined force. They are trained and drilled according to doctrine and field manuals. This is a tremendous strength and a hidden weakness. I have told you how they react to vary levels of threat and roughly how long you can safely keep in contact with them before the danger becomes overwhelming. Fight smart, keep them guessing. In this fight they can send us down with one solid punch and we can nary scratch them with ten. But if we keep moving, keep them reacting, then they will never see the blow that brings them down. Good luck everyone and good hunting."

Varina performed some shoulder stretches before looking through her binoculars. Nothing was going to help her neck from colliding into a wall. So sore... it was hard to keep track of anything. "They're going... no, no, I lost them. Disregard." She shut off her comm channel and sighed. What she really needed to do was get some damn ale to soothe the pain of getting shot so many times again.
