Book-Hunt! (D9, LA)

Dhel takes the brightly colored cloak with a nod of thanks, dropping her book into one of the deep pockets. "Oh...clever way to carry that!"

Putting on a coat with a kitten in hand is not the easiest task. She makes it easier by holding Manka next to Manny's waist and letting the tiny claws catch hold. She shrugs into the bright cloak while watching the kitten climb. She gives Manny a somewhat skeptical look, having never heard of a dog that acted quite like that. "Sounds like a pretty mean dog, but a good guard."

[Raven Cadera]

Raven had a bit of a happy smile, seeming very pleased with herself. "Don't want the little fighter escaping into the city."

"Why did you let the dog attack you on four separate occassions, Manny?" Raven asked, a little puzzled as she donned her cloak. Which required a bit different style than usual due to the change of backpack location. "Or did you just trespass four times before learning your lesson?"

[Manny Donos]

"Oh, I trespassed way more than four times." Manny said. "But Goat wasn't always there. Sometimes he'd be hanging out in this little patch of grass, chewing on it. Good thing, because it really hurt when he got you with his little dog-horns."

Smiling, Manny picked up Manka, tucking him into his vest. "There ya go, little buddy. A pouch with no eggs."

[Raven Cadera]

It wasn't a new experience for Manny as Raven stared dumbfounded at him for a good moment.

"Dogs usually don't have horns, Manny. Goats on the other hand do."

[Manny Donos]

"Yeah, I know!" Manny said. "That's why the dog was named Goat." He nodded. Yeah, that totally made sense.

He flashed a grin at his companions, nudging Dhel playfully with his elbow. "So, we ready to go? Gotta go to another store now. What sort of stuff do cats need? Beds and toys and food and stuff?"

Dhel giggles. "Mmm hmm. "Yeah, I guess we need like a box for, ah...waste. Since she'll be on the ship and can't just find a spot outside like the strays do. But why do you think she's not just going to share crew beds?" She pats the cat-lump in his pocket as they head out.

[Manny Donos]

The vest lump gave a squeak, more of acknowledgement than anything else. "Waste...?" Manny stared blankly for a few moments. "Oh. Uh... she doesn't just use the toilet? I guess I've got a lot to learn about cats."

He shrugged. "But hey, I figure she can sleep wherever she wants. That's how we do it!"

[Raven Cadera]

"Right... I don't think I wanna let this little one out on the street to do... waste." Raven frowned thoughtfully. Clearly a cat was a big responsibility, just like parenting.

Was she now a parent to this little creature?

"... Thank you, Dhel, for finding this place for us. It seems we all got something out of it, eh?" the frown was replaced with a friendly smile for the Bothan lady.

"Really no problem. Thanks for asking me...now I have a book and a pet for the first time." Dhel smiled back as they headed back through the drizzly streets. "And if I decide to stay here instead of staying with the ship, well...you'll have Manka to remind you all of me," she says mostly aimed at Manny. But as often as Raven visited, it counted for her too.
