Even Mandalorian Need Rest (D10, Mid-Afternoon. Mando Safehouse)

[Sofia Hargrave]

Eventually, Sofia returns to the gathering freshened up once more. Working her way past folk as they sat, or stood, she slips her way back through to Soleene. "Back," she says softly, a touch of a smile. Sliding down onto the couch again, more of a lay than a sit, she gets herself back under one of Soleene's arms and rests her head on a shoulder.

Varina stuffed her garrote back into her pocket as she made her way back to the festivities. In order to purge her mind of indecent thoughts, she guzzled down the rest of her beer and picked up the remains of her food. "Oh dang, you're going to get fat," she said to the little kitten.

"Where are you headed anyways?" she asked Dhel. Heck, she didn't even know the answer for herself.

The kittens don't even protest as the plate is removed, absorbed in grooming food off their whiskers and toes.

Dhel shrugs. and looks to Manny again. "I don't know. I'm not driving. Are there plans? Or just...away?"

[Manny Donos]

Manny had been leaning back, having thoroughly stuffed himself. "Whew!" He said, shaking his head. "I always feel like a nap after eating a bunch of food. Do we have time to take a nap?"

Shaking his head again, he blinked at Dhel. "Oh, uh, hmmm... well, I kinda wanted to hit up Kamda again. Just a quick stop. After that, yeah..." He shrugged. "Wherever we need to go. Or we'll just make it up! That usually works for me."

[Soleene Stryss]

Soleene was quietly listening to the exchange between Dhelih and Raven, quietly wondering if they were going to need with Manny. There were a few Mandalorians in the enclave they could hitch a ride with if it came to that. She didn't know if she could take all of those egg puns on a long-term trip. She would finish her meat pastry with a shake of her head before looking to add more food to her plate for herself and Sofia once she returned.

"Hey," she would greet Sofia with a small smile and happily accept her back into her arm, allowing Sofia to get comfortable against her body and giving her a small hug. Her gaze would curiously look over to her before looking into her eyes and asking casually. "Everything okay?"

"Is everything fine in Kamda? Kinda?" She did bring up curiously to the group, recalling the bit that Julo mentioned on their first day here.

[Raven Cadera]

"Plenty more to eat, Manny," Raven said with a small laugh. When there was so much to just pick and choose between to eat, it was easy to suddenly realise you'd been filling up for the past hour.

Varina and then Sofia returning to the group got a small nod from her, and she assumed nothing was amiss. She trusted Varina, after all.

That people were eating their fill, that at least was good compliments to the chef, and Raven found herself leaning against Praxton a bit more for comfort for both of them, seeking his eyes to see how he was holding up. "Alright so far?"

Manny had been leaning back, having thoroughly stuffed himself. "Whew!" He said, shaking his head. "I always feel like a nap after eating a bunch of food. Do we have time to take a nap?"

Shaking his head again, he blinked at Dhel. "Oh, uh, hmmm... well, I kinda wanted to hit up Kamda again. Just a quick stop. After that, yeah..." He shrugged. "Wherever we need to go. Or we'll just make it up! That usually works for me."

Dhel smiles a bit at Soleene and Sofia, very much not immune to the cute, before curling against Manny's shoulder. "While I didn't see anything on Kamda that really warranted a second look, I'm not averse to a stop."

"Hmm, if we stow the magic stuff you're storing in the spare room...which we should probably due in case of needing to leave real fast...there's space to stow someone else on the ship, yeah?" She reaches over to pick at marginal bits left on his plate, as she asks.

Dhel smiles a bit at Soleene and Sofia, very much not immune to the cute, before curling against Manny's shoulder. "While I didn't see anything on Kamda that really warranted a second look, I'm not averse to a stop."

"Hmm, if we stow the magic stuff you're storing in the spare room...which we should probably due in case of needing to leave real fast...there's space to stow someone else on the ship, yeah?" She reaches over to pick at marginal bits left on his plate, as she asks.

Manny nudged the top of her head with his, then just slid his plate over.

"Yeah, I mean, I guess we gotta secure the cutting in half box. I never did find ladies with a matching top and bottom halves. I mean that didn't threaten to beat me up."

He looked at her. "Why, you got someone in mind?"

She sets his plate atop her empty one with a bit of a grin. "If you'd stick to human assistants, that wouldn't be a problem, you know." Ok some of them were still going to threaten to beat him when he asked to saw them in half.

"But yeah." She pauses a moment. It's still very new having a place she could consider inviting someone into like this. "I don't know if you've met Deonis. Raven has though, I think she'll vouch for him." Obviously her opinion would hold more weight, right?

And while she knows Raven saw Deonis set his light saber on the table at that meeting the other day, she's not sure anyone else in the room is aware of that secret. And her own is too new to say aloud among so many. So she just adds. "There's...reasons, I'd like him to be with us...with me." She rubs her cheek along his shoulder once, before picking at the plate again.

"Deonis... Deonis..." Manny frowned. "I don't know. I've met a lot of people here. Like that bald guy with the big mustache? What's his name? Or was that a dream I had..." He shrugged. "Either way, I don't remember him, but if he's good enough for you and Raven, he's good enough for me!"

"Reasons?" Manny looked at her with the blank cheerfulness he so often seemed to have.

[Sofia Hargrave]

"Hey," she would greet Sofia with a small smile and happily accept her back into her arm, allowing Sofia to get comfortable against her body and giving her a small hug. Her gaze would curiously look over to her before looking into her eyes and asking casually. "Everything okay?"

Resting up closely against her, a tight little hug she nods and smiles. Speaking softly in the more private space near just the two, "Yea," her tone's warm. "Right now, everything's pretty great," she chuckles softly.

[Praxton]

That people were eating their fill, that at least was good compliments to the chef, and Raven found herself leaning against Praxton a bit more for comfort for both of them, seeking his eyes to see how he was holding up. "Alright so far?"

Dhel glances to Raven with a grin. "I think Raven's probably not in the market for a job as your assistant, Manny."

As to her reasons...well, that somewhat hapless cheerful openness was part of why she was being circumspect but. She elbows him with a grin "_secret_ reasons. But also, he's teaching me some stuff. And even more also, I like him a lot." The grin becomes a bit more sheepish with that last bit, but she totally refrains from pointing out the cute between Soleen and Sofia as a distraction. That would be rude.

Praxton gives a nod, but the look tells more. He's managing, but mostly cause the attention isn't quite directly on him. Still, he's happy enough to bring an arm around her in this moment to invite in that lean a little.

Didn't have to tell Raven twice to lean in, and she happily did so while still snacking on the food, though the pace of eating was slowing down as a lot had been devoured already. Her free hand, which wasn't her best one at the moment, still found its place to his knee and giving it a reassuring but very careful squeeze - she saw he was managing, but she'd get him an out if he needed it soon. Watching eachother's backs in more ways than one.

"Deonis?" she heard the name, and hers mentioned in the conversation. "Yeah... yeah, he's a good guy. If he's travelling with you guys... I think that would be good for him and you too. He'll get to socialise a bit more, and you'll have a pretty solid warrior at your side. His skill and strength is pretty impressive."

A small nod was given to Dhel. "And he appriciates good music too, so he clearly has common sense."

[Soleene Stryss]

Soleene smiled in approval at Sofia's answer. She did turn her attention at the mention of Deonis's name, that's someone who she hadn't heard for a while. They just kind of disbanded after the job was done but it was perhaps for the best. Getting caught up in Hutt business wasn't useful for either the Mandalorian mission or the resistance, even if the pay was good.

"Yeah, I guess I can speak only on his work ethics and results but I can also say Deonis is a pretty good person," she would say to the group.

Dhel nods at Raven. "Met at the Cave. Different night than when I saw you two chatting. Thought he must be another Mandalorian back then, with the armor and all." She pauses and chuckles. "And, didn't realize you were one for a while because less armor most of the time." We really make a lot of assumptions based on what people wear.

"He said you gave him a pretty good set of bruises the other day. So I guess the ...ahh, warrior assessment is mutual?" He'd said something more along the lines of Raven kicking his ass, but that seemed a bit coarse for the comfortable get together.

Soleene gets a nod as well. "Good to hear a few more good assessments. I like to think I've gotten to be an ok judge of people...but there's always that one you miss to make you doubt yourself."

[Manny Donos]

"He likes music, huh?" Manny grinned. "I'm gonna have to introduce him to the Rawrbacca rap!"

He shrugged again. "So sure. He can take the last room. What sort of food does he like? Seafood? Eggs?" For his part, Manny seemed pretty relaxed, both about Deonis and generally speaking, leaning back comfortably.

"Did he now?" there was a sense of humor as well as bashfulness to her smile, hearing that Deonis had admitted to her giving him a pretty good round at sparring. "Yeah... something like a warrior assessement, you could say that. Can tell a lot about someone from learning how they fight, and well, I gave him some pointers too since he hasn't been able to have a proper training session with a sparring partner. Seemed like the right thing to do."

Despite her often hard nature, Raven had a habit of trying to be helpful, even with those outside of her family-group. Sometimes in a harsh but fair-manner like her own mother had had.

"You're a pretty good judge of character though--ah--" her words were cut off as the resident black kitten decided to climb up her leg by using its tiny needle-paws into her pants and skin. Chuckling, she reached over and scooped up the feline to nestle it in the corner of her arm. Which seemed to have been the kitten's goal as it was already seeming to be in the mood of sleeping off its very big diner. "Sheesh. You get used to getting shot or stabbed, but then you get surprised at how sharp those itty bitty claws can be."

Manny mentioning the Rawrbacca-rap made her stiffen, then shudder. "... I wouldn't wish that so-called song on my worst enemies."

Dhel shakes her head, setting plates aside and curling comfortably against Manny, glancing around to see where Manka's gotten to. "I'll try to protect him from it as long as I can," she says in Raven's direction with a chuckle.

[Soleene Stryss]

Soleene tilted her head at the mention of this pop-culture sensation she had heard little about. As a Zeltron, she would like to think that she was up to date on music, at least. She gave a look between Manny and Raven. "Rawrbacca rap? What's this thing exactly?"

[Manny Donos]

"Uhhhhhhhhhhh..." Manny looked over at Raven, performing various calculations in his head. How fast he could move. How fast she could move. How much of the rap and accompanying dance he could perform before she hit him.

'I'll tell you later. Wink." He said, winking.

For his part, little Manka had just had a very big exciting kitten day, and was sprawled completely senseless on the edge of the couch. Little kitten feet twitched in some exciting kitten dream.
