D11 MA: Message For You Sir

[The SCaT Droid]

Since SCaT didn't feel too well after the mission yesterday, he decided to confer with anyone who wanted to review the Holodisk information the next afternoon. "Hello Mylar, I hope your day is going well."

Set up in the room Mylar was leaning back in his chair. Thinking on everything he'd seen, all the moments from the big mission and the information they'd uncovered about Novar and her experiments. There was so much more information on the device itself and he couldn't fathom most of it. Certainly could bring himself to tell Mara about any of it, not while she was tending to her brother. Leaving her the time to try and figure out how to settle him into managing his life as it was now. Even putting out a few words to different doctors they came across.

With a raised brow he looks to SCaT as he enters, a quirked brow while he balances a pencil on his upper lip looking toward the ceiling, "It's.. not, but hey- that's.. what we've got for ourselves, in front of ourselves."

[The SCaT Droid]

"So to start, do we need to find a way to isolate the relevant information? We could make a transcript of the recording so we don't have to listen to the whole thing every time we need to see information?"

[Mylar]

"There's separate entries.." he sighs, looking to SCaT, the weight of what he'd witnessed in them was heavy. "But.. we could do that. Not... not really sure what good it might do, but we could do something like that. Maybe help point people in the right direction.." he shakes his head.

"Have you looked into it much? I'm.. it's pretty apparent what Dr. Novar did here, the pain she's caused.. the Gonks.." he grimaces, hand balling up into a fist.

"Specialists tend to not need to dumb down concepts for others. Maybe if we had a professional doctor look at these, we would have a better chance of making heads or tails of things. These statistics here are vital signs given over a period of time for each patient right? If we put it in a graph, we might get a visual of the basics."

[Mylar]

"What exactly you hopin' to get out of it all, a y ideas?" he asks quirking his brow as he leans up a bit more to sit properly in the chair. Leaning forward elbows to knees.

"You talking goal orientation or motivation? If you're talking about how this might help my tasks in the future, the doctor is still out there and may or may not do similar experiments in the future. If you mean motivation, then by getting a full understanding of this, I can show the common people a clear example of something the empire is doing and how it very well could hurt them in the future. "

"What exactly you hopin' to get out of it all, a y ideas?" he asks quirking his brow as he leans up a bit more to sit properly in the chair. Leaning forward elbows to knees.

"Or if we are talking simply about the mechanisms of what actually happened to Dace, then the same thing was done to the gonks and him, so if we can get a clue if the same thing is happening to all the 'patients', then . . . "

[Mylar]

"Quite a few ideas then but- yea.. that's all a whole load of the stuff we've been talkin' well, waiting on talkin' about. Mara's busy with Dace, Sera's busy with Mara, and Petra's.. in no shape for any of this. So, it's me scanning through some of the worst research I've ever found. It's here.. and, sure- we could speed it up but.." he shakes his head.

"We've gotta move at a pace that will get the job done. It'll.. everything you're worried about, it'll get seen to. It's all just gonna take some time," he says, giving a small half-smile.

"Pardon me for not understanding organic mannerisms, but why the hesitation for haste? Is it because this sort of stuff is so far outside the norms for your life or a genuine wish to avoid confirmation bias?" He then takes a moment to search his databases to find out how others coped and sadly finding little. "But sorry I won't be able to help you sort through this over the coming days, I know how rough this sort of research can be on a soul."

"People need time to heal, can't go.. rushing into this," he says, leaning his head back down and looking up at the ceiling.

Zim had got a message from the 'metallic friend' saying they had found... important things at the Spire. Especially after the previous day's conversation with Oshazich, she knew she had to be there.

To say she had mixed feelings about... whatever it was that they had found, would definitely be an understatement. She was eager to actually know what had happened... what had been done to those people. That the empire had done... something to them, then left them aside and leave others to write them off as bestial, almost non-sensitives, hit her even harder - she was much too familiar with prejudice to not be affected by it, having seen and felt it up close. She knew the prejudice itself was not only the empire's doing, of course. But she had already got over the need for that kind of vengeance.

Nonetheless, she felt she owed them the truth about what had happened. Owed them a chance to find out if there was a way to make things right.

And... for those who had done it to others?

What peace and balance could there be if nothing was done about that?

With all that running through her mind, the Mikkian who enters the room to meet Mylar and SCaT seems, in some ways, different from the one they had seen before. Her steps are still slow and light, and there is still a serene air about her, but there is also a sense of purposeful anger beneath the surface.

"Mylar. Metallic friend. Good afternoon", she says, more serious than usual, then nods in the general direction of the droid. "You said you had info from the Spire to share." Then, looking at Mylar's expression. "I expect it's..." She tries to find the right words to describe what she feels, but draws a blank.

"Bad." She shakes her head, looking at the floor. "Worse than bad..."

"Blatant experimentation on innocent people and then ditching them the second you realized you couldn't corral them? Yes, pretty bad. At least the doctor forgot her final report running away yesterday. "

[Zimrzala Skalirz]

She keeps a blank expression on her face, and some time goes by before she brings herself to nod. "I... expected something like this. Unfortunately."

She looks at Mylar. She'd heard some things about Mara's brother by now, of course... but not the whole story. "I... imagine there were many involved, right?"

A long silence. It's hard to think about what to say in such a situation. She takes a deep breath, tries to muster a kind smile, manages something... close to it, but small and still heavy.

"Mara's brother... he was one of them, then, I imagine." She shakes her head. "Mylar... have we found anything on what they were looking for in those they..."

She stops mid-sentence. "And... what they did? Maybe any hopes of... improving it?"

Another long silence. "I... have been in contact with other victims. I'd like to ask permission to take whatever information on have to them. They want to know what was done to them. I'd like to do more for them... but for now, this is the least I can do."

Another silence, and a nod. "I would like to help them get at least some of the respect they deserve. Extend a hand to them when they've been all but abandoned. And... I trust they may be valuable allies."

[The SCaT Droid]

"How many copies do you need, and do you have devices you want it copied onto?"

[Zimrzala Skalirz]

"I don't have any devices with me. I... don't think the victims I'll be taking this information to do, either. Do you think you could get the info on something that could be read or accessed without needing an external device?"

She might have to run through the information herself before showing it to them, maybe explain things here and there - as much as she could with the limited knowledge she had herself, at least...

"One copy will be enough, though, if you can provide that." She nods to Mylar and the droid with a smile again. "Thank you very much for this."

[The SCaT Droid]

"Considering we only got this information last night and we don't exactly have a working printing press, I don't exactly have a paper copy yet. We hardly had the time to even read the information on this device." SCaT shakes his head in exasperation, "but because this is really important and I know you have their best interest at heart, I'll get you a datapad, show you how to use it if you don't know, then copy what all we have on it. We can at least walk you through what we already read."

[Mylar]

"I'll come with you," he says, having watched the exchange briefly as he contended with his thoughts. "I'll put together something we can give to these people and come with you. I'll.. probably need to make an introduction at some point anyway. Not sure how much will be useful to them now but.. as you said," he gives her a nod, "this is something they deserve to hear."

"Hoping I can put some work into finding someone who might understand all the biology a bit more than we have anyone prepared to do. I know Dr. Aanli was here but.. she seems to not be around anymore," he says with a sigh.
