"No." She shook her head at that, hesitating for a moment before speaking again.

"... It's not a lie. Peace has a way in life, just as war and conflict does. It just doesn't come easily, and is precious and rare when you first do have it. It is worthy of being protected."

He hesitated as if searching for words not really expecting to have to defend his off handed comment "hard to explain. Smarter people than me have explained the idea, peace for too long is bad. Leads to Stagnation. Conflict is necessary to life to help one grow. To always avoid that conflict, or to be afraid of it weakens you."

"I didn't say conflict has no place," Raven retorted, then stopped herself from saying anything more, as she felt her temper was shorter today than usual.

Sighing, she pulled out her datapad to make notes about the location they were checking out.

"No intention to upset." He said maybe as an apology or simply an explanation "it is a mantra. From an old life. I hadn't even meant to say it out loud." He looked about taking his own mental notes

"It's fine..." she mumbled, slightly exasperated. "... Just been a long day. Really long day."

"I've never heard a mantra like that before though. But, plenty of weird stuff out in the galaxy."

[Deonis Harik]

"Trouble involving the Salky Raiders?" He asked just trying to put two and two together.

[Raven Cadera]

There was a while of silence before she replied, as she entered something in on the datapad, and tucked it away again.

"Yes." She said simply. "They will be dealt with shortly."

He paused regarding Raven probably taking her measure "Well, if you need help with that you can reach me." He wrote down a commlink code "Don't expect you to trust me with personal matters off the bat but, the offer is there."

Her visor eyed the number for a moment, then looked up at him as she copied the number to her own commlink. "Thanks. No love lost between you and the Raiders then, I take it?"

In return, she offered her contact-info to him.

His expression was hidden but she could likely detect a hint of amusement in his voice "I did say they were only good for practice didn't I?" He put her number into his comm

"aren't all bad. Seem to be a loose group. Common ideals but not mission. At least as far as I know. But some raid the lower district, cause problems for innocent citizens."

[Raven Cadera]

"Heh, true," she seemed rather amused as well. People like them seemed to be decent at body language and conveying meaning through other ways that normally would have been through facial expressions.

"You're some kind of... local protector, for the people here?"

[Deonis Harik]

Living for a long time completely covered does seem to help reading body language and tone. The hulk shrugged "I am......complicated." He said after a beat "I've brought enough dark. Can't atone. Can just work to help."

[Raven Cadera]

"Complicated, huh?" she seemed curious, but didn't push. People had their complications and secrets.

"Well, good for the people here that they have people like you then. Means that when the fighting starts, it won't just be my people alone taking to the frontline."

[Deonis Harik]

"Too long in the shadows. I look forward to standing on the Frontline." His tone was Complex, bitter sweet maybe, excitement mixed with something else.

"So Mandalore has declared for the resistance then?"

[Raven Cadera]

"Hmmm..." she considered the response. "It's complicated. Consider it more that individually, Mand'alor approves we may choose our battles - including against the Empire - but there is not yet an official alliance."

"We have many great warriors, but the Empire is still much larger than we are. Basically, it is complicated, and not easy."

[Deonis Harik]

Deonis nodded "not sure you want to tie yourship with their until you know if their ship will sink or not. Can't risk your whole clan? People? Not really sure what that would be called but can't put them all in danger for a lost cause. I can respect that."

[Raven Cadera]

"Something like that." Her tone softened a little. "Our people have lost much in the past decades... civil wars, philosophical differences. Political differences. Mando'ade are a people divided, but Mand'alor the Rebuilder works to unite us again, to overthrow the ones who chose to bend the knee to the Empire, and to restore us once more."

[Deonis Harik]

"Your people seem like a complicated one. Different factions. Not tied by blood but by a code. Seems like not all follow the same one. How do you decide who is right? If two declare to be Mandalorian but think differently who is right?" He asked with an air of genuine curiosity.

[Raven Cadera]

"We all follow the Resol'nare - the Six Actions. It is what makes one a Mandalorian," she explained. "But many might differ on how it is best followed. Perhaps a flaw with a simple code to live by; to wear the beskar'gam, to speak Mando'a, defend oneself and one's family, raise your children to be Mandalorians, contribute to your clan, and to answer the call of Mand'alor."

A hand raised to her helmet's chin in a contemplative gesture. "For thousands of year, a Mand'alor has united us, been the example of what it means to follow the Resol'nare. But there has not been one for a long time, until recently."

She relaxed the hand, lowering it slowly. "For me, I was born and raised a Mandalorian, so for me it is simply the way of life. It is my heritage and culture."

"Simple can be good. Can also be bad, I can guess it has been the source of much strife between interpretations." He said looking about a little bit still doing a little mental work while they talked.

"Interesting though. Decent way to live."
