[Day 2 LM] I Came Into This Like, Wrecked Ball (Closed, Expecting)

[Nara Phln]

"Wow! It's amazing....geez that crew would have been splattered"
Nara nods with approval as she surveys the wreck. Although any bloodstains would have long since dried the Chiss liked to think she could still imagine them as she started down a slight slope towards what was left of the ship, rifle held at ease.

"Kinda secluded here" She continued, narrating to any semi-omniscient observers "Normally that would be kinda boring, buuuuut having a little hideout never hurt anyone. I mean, all the other groups got one."
Kicking a scrap of hull that flopped over in the sucking mud
"Probably nicer ones too....but this has a certain rural aesthetic."

[Manny Donos]

It had been random chance that brought Manny to this place. Well, random chance that he flew over it, and a conscious decision to come back. But Manny had a saying, "What something something random chance something something something." Okay, he used to have a saying, but then he forgot it.

"Wow." Manny said, grunting as he made his way forward, around a thicket. "This place is so remote. I bet I'm the only living thing around!" He meant person, of course.

And then, around the thicket, he spotted the Chiss. "Or maybe not." He muttered. "Hey!" He waved. "I'm Manny. The magician."

And then, around the thicket, he spotted the Chiss. "Or maybe not." He muttered. "Hey!" He waved. "I'm Manny. The magician."

The Chiss swings her gaze over
"A magician?"
There's a pause
"....That's awesome! I love magic. You know, like when you make someone disappear? Done that a few times, much less grizzly when you guys do it."
Nara started surveying the surrounds as she ambled over to this human
"But if you're won of those bandit or slaver magicians that would be bad....."

[Manny Donos]

Manny beamed. "Yeah! That's exactly it! I mean, I don't make anyone disappear lately. I had to leave my disappearing box behind a while back, but yeah, I used to. Maybe I should get another one..." He considered that for a few moments, head tilted.

He shook his head. "But no way, I'm not a bandit or a slaver. That's bad crime. Not the sort of thing I'm into." An earnest nod. "So, uh, what's your name?" He did a double-take. "Wait, you're blue!"

[Nara Phln]

Manny beamed. "Yeah! That's exactly it! I mean, I don't make anyone disappear lately. I had to leave my disappearing box behind a while back, but yeah, I used to. Maybe I should get another one..." He considered that for a few moments, head tilted.

He shook his head. "But no way, I'm not a bandit or a slaver. That's bad crime. Not the sort of thing I'm into." An earnest nod. "So, uh, what's your name?" He did a double-take. "Wait, you're blue!"

"Thanks for noticing!"
Nara beamed, teeth very white against the blue
"Real blue! Not like that lame Pantoran blue which is all 'lovely afternoon sky' blue. Real blue. I'm Nara! Glad you're not a bad criminal, those guys are no fun. Buuuut you can shoot them with no ethical repercussions so they have their uses."
Looking him up and down
"You're not blue, but I'm still kinda interested in your name."

[Manny Donos]

"Iiiiiiiiiiiiiiinteresting." Manny said, looking at her through narrowed eyes, smiling. "How do you feel about being..." He raised one eyebrow. "Cut in half?" He said it so earnestly that it was impossible to take as a threat.

"Like, my full name? Manny Donos. I mean, I guess really my first name is Manuel, but no one calls me that. Not even my mother who I never met." He said it so earnestly that... well, it was clear he wasn't that bright.

"That's rough buddy. I'm sure she was completely lame anyway. Not like you, I'd totally be done for being cut in half. That or dying in my bed...wait...maybe I could do both...."
For a moment the Chiss looks deep in thought

[Manny Donos]

"Hey, thanks." Manny grinned at her. "Wow, blue people are always so nice. I'm gonna have to show you a magic trick. One of my really good ones."

He looked around. "Maybe not here, though. I mean, there's this wreck ship, and this swamp. It seems pretty dangerous to be messing around." There was a short pause. "Well, maybe just one of the little ones, if you want."

"Hey, thanks." Manny grinned at her. "Wow, blue people are always so nice. I'm gonna have to show you a magic trick. One of my really good ones."

He looked around. "Maybe not here, though. I mean, there's this wreck ship, and this swamp. It seems pretty dangerous to be messing around." There was a short pause. "Well, maybe just one of the little ones, if you want."

Clapping her hands together, sending the rifle pointing all over the place
"Oooh yes yes yes! Even just a little one would be great! I once saw this guy make a pencil disappear, it was great."

"Hang on a sec." Manny holstered his pistol. If he was at all concerned about how she was waving her rifle, he didn't show it. Possibly he didn't care about gun safety?

Reaching into his vest he pulled out an egg, holding it up to show her. He waved his other hand around it once, twice, three times, and then clapped. The egg had vanished! But then he circled his hands again, once, twice, three times, and then with a flourish, the egg was there again. Only it was brown, where it had formerly been white. Or it was possibly two different eggs.

"Ta-da!" Manny grinned at her. "How's that?"

Vigorous applause
"You're good. Okay so, like."
She looks around as though expecting a spy to have been enjoying the egg magic from a perch
"You wanna try out to be part of my new secret hideout team? It's pretty exclusive and the hideout isn't done yet and you'll probably have to fight swamp monsters at some point. But it would be cool to have a magician around."

Manny didn't even have to think. Which was good, because he didn't. "I do want to be part of that!" He said enthusiastically. "That sounds awesome! Secret hideouts are dope. And then, you can be a part of my magic show. It'll be perfect!" He grinned, exhuberantly.

"So... what do we do, exactly?" He frowned suddenly. "Wait, fight swamp monsters?" He pulled out his pistol again; his draw was very fast, but he gave it enough of a flourish while pulling it out that he wouldn't have been able to fire for a second or two.

Which was good because there was an awkward moment as Nara looked like she was going to start firing before she relaxed again
"Yeah! Pretty sure there are swamp monsters. I mean, there might not be, but I kinda hope for swamp monsters."

"Yeah, totally. Tactical. Breach and clear. Shots fired! Weapons free." Manny nodded easy agreement, repeating all the phrases he'd heard in a video game he used to play.

There was a short pause, and then Manny cleared his throat awkwardly. "So, uh, what does that mean exactly? I mean, I'm totally on board..." Manny scratched his head awkwardly. "I just mean, which kind of tactical? And also, what does tactical mean?"

"Yeah, totally. Tactical. Breach and clear. Shots fired! Weapons free." Manny nodded easy agreement, repeating all the phrases he'd heard in a video game he used to play.

"It means you make hand gestures."
Nara makes a series of incomprehensible hand signs
"You get to kick doors open."
There is some air kicking
"And you have to yell 'clear!' if there's nothing in the room. If you do all that you can say it's tactical. As for type...we can do it SWAT style. That just means you need a flashlight on your gun."

[Manny Donos]

If she said anything after 'kick doors open', Manny wasn't aware.

"I'm so in! Let's do it! ANTILLES!" Pistol raised in what Manny was pretty sure was an awesome way, Manny moved towards the wreckage.

Nara hustles straight towards the wreck and kicks a panel as hard she she can with a ringing 'CLONG' sound.

Manny had a food raised, ready to kick a door (it was a sliding door). He stopped, lowering it, turning back to look at Nara.

"Wait, what? Poshkapflorian? What's that?" He frowned at her, clearly confused.

Nara was hopping up and down holding her foot and wincing
"Stupid door! Oww oww oww! Pohskapforian means 'fishing boat' in my people's language. I just got caught up in all the shouting."

"Oh, okay." Manny considered a moment. "That makes sense."

With that explained, he turned back to the door, raised his foot, and kicked it. It also gave a loud CLONG sound.

"Owwwwwww..." Manny hissed, hopping on one foot. "You know, this looks a lot easier in the vids."
