[Day 2 LM] I Came Into This Like, Wrecked Ball (Closed, Expecting)

[Nara Phln]

"Oh, okay." Manny considered a moment. "That makes sense."

With that explained, he turned back to the door, raised his foot, and kicked it. It also gave a loud CLONG sound.

"Owwwwwww..." Manny hissed, hopping on one foot. "You know, this looks a lot easier in the vids."

"They're probably kicking pre-opened doors, it's all staged you know. The only real truth is on the spynet."
Gently putting some wait on her foot and wincing again
"Huh, there's a door handle...."

"Any ideas for how to tactically use a door handle Manny?"

[Manny Donos]

Manny considered that. "Ummm... I guess we yell afterwards?" He shrugged. "Let's give it a try, I guess."

He turned the handle, sliding it open. "Antilles!" He yelled pointing his gun into the darkness. "Uh... I mean, clear, I guess. Hold on." Reaching into his pocket, he pulled out a pair of scanner goggles, slipping them on.

"Yeah. It's clear. Looks like crew quarters, maybe?" He stepped out of the way, letting her take a look.

[Nara Phln]

Manny considered that. "Ummm... I guess we yell afterwards?" He shrugged. "Let's give it a try, I guess."

He turned the handle, sliding it open. "Antilles!" He yelled pointing his gun into the darkness. "Uh... I mean, clear, I guess. Hold on." Reaching into his pocket, he pulled out a pair of scanner goggles, slipping them on.

"Yeah. It's clear. Looks like crew quarters, maybe?" He stepped out of the way, letting her take a look.

"Clear!"
Nara dives in after him, her eyes having little trouble with the darkness
"Huh, yeah. Looks like the crew quarters. I recognize a couple of those adult pinups. No swamp monsters though."
Sweeping her rifle barrel around she carefully stepped a little deeper into the dark and very pungent interior.

Manny was very closely studying one of the pinups.

"Yeah... that sounds good. Let's do that." He said absently.

"Pfft, they're not real, you can always tell with implants. Come on Manny, there could be giant tentacle monsters down that corridor."

"Uh..." Manny coughed. "Yeah, okay."

He turned, following along, going with her down the hallway. "So, would giant tentacle monsters be good or bad? It sounds bad."

"Good, duh....unless it's like the tentacle monsters in those pinups. Then it would be bad, we shoot those on sight."
Nara goes to kick a door open but then sighs and uses the handle, sliding open an entrance to what looks like the ship galley. Tilted at a severe angle most of the remaining cookware had collected in one corner of the room while all the cupboards swung open.

[Manny Donos]

"What do we do with the other sort of tentacle monsters?" Manny said, even as he looked this way and that.

He walked nimbly down the slope to this cookware; Manny "Both Hands" was good with both of his feet, too! "Do you think any of the stuff here is still good? I could use a new frying pan." He poked at the collection with his foot.

"What do we do with the other sort of tentacle monsters?" Manny said, even as he looked this way and that.

He walked nimbly down the slope to this cookware; Manny "Both Hands" was good with both of his feet, too! "Do you think any of the stuff here is still good? I could use a new frying pan." He poked at the collection with his foot.

"Oh, then we have an epic battle, quipy one liners, the whole deal."

Hmmm, I mean that colander looks pretty swish. If you're into grains it can be a good pickup. Or you can wear it if that's your style. You could be like that guy in Cloud City who carries around an ice-cream maker?"

"Nah, I'm good." Manny said. A few moments, and he backed away from the kitchenware with a sign. "It's all swampy anyway. I'm mostly an eggs and wings sorta guy. What stuff do you eat?" He asked.

Making his way back up the sloped room, Manny looked around. "I guess we could try to find... huh. Where do you think the good stuff would be? Captain's quarters? Cargo bay? Maybe this ship had a treasure room!" Manny's expression brightened. "Let's find that."

"Nah, I'm good." Manny said. A few moments, and he backed away from the kitchenware with a sign. "It's all swampy anyway. I'm mostly an eggs and wings sorta guy. What stuff do you eat?" He asked.

Making his way back up the sloped room, Manny looked around. "I guess we could try to find... huh. Where do you think the good stuff would be? Captain's quarters? Cargo bay? Maybe this ship had a treasure room!" Manny's expression brightened. "Let's find that."

"Treasure room! Yeah, now you're thinking. Bet that's in the cargo bay somewhere. Could be all sorts of kitchen equipment in there."
Following the human up and out and starting left down an intersection

"I'm kind of a cold noodle gal. We got these ones back home made from Csilla long grain which works great. But I've been trying to branch out a bit, new planet new food, right? Just so long as it's not gruel or protein squares I'm in."

Manny followed her down the hallway, such as it was. "Noodles are cool, I guess. Just not as cool as wings. I don't usually have cold noodles. But I bet they slurp just as well as hot noodles, right? Maybe even better!" Manny grinned.

"So, does that mean you're new to this planet, too? I just got here. Haven't found the really good stuff to eat, either."

One side of the corridor was partially caved in and a jumble of wires and support struts protruded from the wall as they passed.
"Oh yeah, they're the best slurpers. There's no heat factor so it's all about what you can fit in your mouth."

"I can fit a lot never lost a barracks eating competition. Not unless you count being violently ill afterwards as losing anyway."
Nodding at his question as she continued on

"Yeah I'm new here. On the trail of a mysterious conspiracy, or, possibly a conspiracy about a conspiracy. I met this kid on the shuttle over who tried to dissuade me, so I know I'm on the right trail. Thinking I'll stick around for a bit, see what's what. Why're you here, Manny?"

"Oh, yeah, I've been there. The post eating competition tummyaches." Nodding sympathetically, Manny raised his fist for an 'I get you' fistbump.

"Me?" Manny shrugged. "Trying to help people, I guess. Do some good things. Good crime." He frowned. "What kind of conspiracy?"

"Oh, yeah, I've been there. The post eating competition tummyaches." Nodding sympathetically, Manny raised his fist for an 'I get you' fistbump.

Fist bump applied, like most of Nara it was a bit over vigorous and nearly a fist jab.

“Oh yeah? Like criminal with a heart of gold? That’s pretty cool. You got a nice motif, easy brand recognition, lots of solid tropes. Sounds pretty fun! All the good criminals I know are all ‘let’s be lame and go build basic communications infrastructure’. Like, do that before I get there, guys.”
Loud Chiss scoffing, which sounds like a cat trying to clear their throat with a second hairball

“I don’t know much about my conspiracy yet. But there has been a real uptake in eccentric characters with first and last names landing on the planet so it’s gotta be something big. Well either that or it’s three little things loosely connected.”

[Manny Donos]

"Yeah!" Manny agreed enthusiastically. There was a short pause. "Wait, what? I mean, I think I basically get what you mean..." Actually, while Manny understood at least most of those words, it wasn't all, and not in some of those combinations.

"Ah, I gotcha." Manny nodded. "Well, hey, if let me know if you need any help figuring it out. I'm not a conspiracy expert, exactly, but I do watch a lot of vid programs." He frowned. "I mean, that's mostly Gravball, not anything conspiracy related, but that's probably close enough?"

"Yeah!" Manny agreed enthusiastically. There was a short pause. "Wait, what? I mean, I think I basically get what you mean..." Actually, while Manny understood at least most of those words, it wasn't all, and not in some of those combinations.

“Don’t sell yourself short Manny. A lot of conspiracies incorporate Gravball. And if they don’t...what is gravball hiding? And why? We need to ask these questions.”

Another boring door handle later and they stepped into the cavernous ship hold, sparsely illuminated by narrow shafts of lift from puncture wounds high above. A large pool of brackish water had collected in one corner but it was hard to make out much in the darkness

"Wow..." Manny said, stepping forward into the darkness, looking this way and that. "This place sucks."

Looking back at Nara, he gave her a sheepish smile and a shrug. "I mean, I knew it was wrecked, I was just expecting a bit more awesome treasure, and a bit less smelly water. If I wanted smelly water, I didn't have to come out all this way!"

[Nara Phln]

"Wow..." Manny said, stepping forward into the darkness, looking this way and that. "This place sucks."

Pointing around randomly

“Think about it. Nobody comes here because it’s lame. So we could a secret base here and nobody would come! Then we can steal our own treasure and have our own treasure vault! It’s genius!”

[Manny Donos]

"Ohhhhh... I get it." Manny said, nodding. "So, instead of finding treasure here, you find treasure somewhere else, and bring it here. Yeah, okay." He looked around. "This place could be pretty cool, all fixed up, yeah."

He looked back at her, frowning. "Although... you know, is it just the ship? Because, I mean, I have a ship, if you wanted to hang out there sometime. It smells better than this, too.
