Work Begins [D2, Early Evening]

[Raven Cadera]

Raven took a brief respite as she had finished clearing a significant portion of the area. Well, this wasn't much hard work, she figured, more or less like a good work out, really.

Finding a solid wall to sit up against, she relaxed into a cross-legged position while she rubbed at her shoulder.

Deonis like wise finished moving around a bit of rubble and broken machinery, more likely could have been done but it did make it a bit easier to move around the place. He posted up on the wall near where Raven sat "We meet again Cadera." his speech was still gruff but a little less terse than their first meeting perhaps even bordering on familiar "Are you getting settled in?"

[Raven Cadera]

"Su cuy'gar, Deonis." She greeted him in return, turning her helmeted head to look up at him. "Suppose you could say that. My people and I have found a temporary safe place to stay, for the time being. Now it's just a matter of getting to work."

Relaxing her arms, Raven let her hands rest in her lap. "What about you? Getting ready to put in the work for the Resistance?"

Deonis' own helmeted head nodded down to her "ready as ill be. I grow restless waiting for the action to begin. Tension before fighting is the worst part for me. Would rather be in the thick of it than waiting for the thick of it to come." He explained

"But for now moving rubble and cleaning works. I knew I wouldn't be able to offer much else here."

"Heh, it is kind of like a work-out routine more than work, no?" she remarked with a dry chuckle. "Not that I'm unused to it. Done a lot of similar stuff the past year myself."

"But yeah, I get what you're saying. There's a... simplicity, to being in battle. No heavy thinking, or wandering thoughts, just the clarity of purpose that a fight brings."

A snort came from the helmet "suppose you're right, is kind of like a work out. Guess I could use one of those, I'm getting a little weak these days. Used to be able to lift stuff like this no problem." He indicated some of the large rubble pieces that he failed to dislodge. "Guess it comes with worrying about other things than training. Need to get back to it though."

"What sort of training did you do before?" she asked with some curiosity. Maybe there were good places to get a decent workout of some sort, that didn't include stupid gym-memberships.

[Deonis Harik]

"Combat training, combat fitness that sort of thing." He paused for a bit "a type of bounty hunting work I guess." He said in a way that felt like it wasn't the entire story.

"Anyway, haven't done any thing like that since I've been here so over two years. Probably longer. Mostly been travelling."

[Raven Cadera]

"Mm, bounty hunting is decent work, but it has its droughts." Not all planets had much for bounties to chase after, and not every planet wanted bounty hunters there.

The way her hand touched her helmet, she might've gone for the motion of rubbing her chin. "Are you experienced with training with others then, or having teachers?" To her it wasn't a weird question, as a lot had been self-taught for her.

Deonis nodded "Yes. Spent most of my life being trained. Didn't train with others though. Trained alone." he regarded her for a moment "You can handle yourself. Were you not trained to fight?"

[Raven Cadera]

"Eh?"

She considered his words for a moment, then wobbled a hand. "Sure, I was trained to fight. It wasn't the only thing I was trained to do... most of it I learned on my own, through experience. Still much I'm learning, and training to be better with. You never really stop learning new tricks, right? Every new fight is a new chance to learn something new. And when I'm not fighting, I have plenty of opportunities to learn from my brothers and sisters."

Deonis nodded "can always get better, yes." He looked out at everything going on before coming back to Raven "Were you born Mando'ade?" He said the word he'd heard her use for her people though his tongue obviously tripped on it.

A nod and she rose from her seated position. "I was. On Concord Dawn, in Mandalore sector. It's mostly a farming planet, but my parents were Mandalorians, so it was only natural for my brother and I to be raised the same way too." She dusted off her cloak and armor while speaking.

"What about you? What led you to be a man who's trained his entire life to fight?"

[Deonis Harik]

"If born into it why were you mostly self taught?" He asked with hints of confusion in his voice.

At her question though he grew silent again for several moments "it is.........complicated." He finally said "but I was raised to hunt and fight for as early as I can remember. I used to be very good at it."

[Raven Cadera]

"Hm..." she nodded at his explanation, but needed some more time to digest her own answer. "I was... orphaned, some years ago. Lost my brother, my parents... Empire was taking over Mandalorian space, so I fled, not sure of who to trust or what to do." Raven shrugged off the heavy feelings. "Was on my own for a while after that, getting into scraps and what-not."

"Finding Mandalore and his people, becoming a part of their group, in many ways it was like returning to where I belonged."

[Deonis Harik]

"Empire took everything from me too." He said simply "let's make them bleed for it." He said nodding feeling a sense of connection, another common ground with the Mandalorian.

"It is good you were able to find your people again." He said with a tone that was straightforward but tinged with a sadness

"I fully intend to make the Empire pay. It's my hope that the Mandalorian people will be able to gather again and fight the Empire like we fought the Republic thousands of years ago."

Tensing slightly, she nodded and turned away for a moment. Then looked back to Deonis.

"What about your people? Do you have someone or somewhere to return to?"

[Deonis Harik]

He thought for a moment "Honestly I'm not sure, I was very young when I lost them. I remember little about who they were. Maybe when work is done I will work on that next."

"My sympathies," she inclined her head gently, speaking sincerely.

"Do you have any leads at all?"

[Deonis Harik]

Deonis shook his head "none that are useful." He said before shaking his head "there are many more important problems. Most presently an Empire to crush." He paused "I appreciate your concern."
