A View To A Kill [Day 2, Mid-Morning]

[Claymore Wren]

Claymore takes a few minutes shifting his gear around quietly and under cover to be a little more comfortable on the hike down, while Varina was surveying things.

Clay starts thinking about ways of covering tracks. "A branch of an Evergreen trees would be ideal... Hum." he says softly. "I have my tool kit in my pack."

[Dredgen]

Dredgen was propped up against a rock more on his back than his side. Worrying after picking out some of the brambles which had stuck him between his armor plates. With Raven's attention however he looked up and gave a quick nod. "I'm all for whatever plan you got. Walkin' in there and makin' a real mess or playing this smart and coming back. One side guarantee's a helluva story- other side makes sure someone might actually tell it someday," he gives a snort of a chuckle under his breath.

She didn't like it, but it was decided. As much as she wanted a straight up fight, she didn't want to see the rest of this group die in a suicidal assault. "We play it smart. Let's see if we can cover some of our tracks on the way back then, hoping we can use this path in the future."

Clay seemed to have some idea of sorts...?

[Soleene Stryss]

Soleene let out a small sigh under her breath as it seemed that they had decided to hold off from assaulting the base. They were right of course, she just wished the circumstances were different. It just seemed things weren't working out in their favour and there was going to be far more preparation involved if they need a chance. She just had to learn how to managed her idea of momentum around here.

[Claymore Wren]

"Oh, I know..." Clay gathers up some branches from a few little brushes and a few cactuses near by. "A brash or two from each is more inconspicuous..."

He ties them up with small gage wire into a small net to drag it the ground to cover the group's tracks. "I hope its big enough, but that's what I have." He looks it what he put together quickly.

[Dredgen]

Dredgen chuckles, looking over Clay a moment, "Smart."

[Raven Cadera]

"Alright... back the same way," she nodded at Clay's idea to cover their tracks.

Hopefully they hadn't wrecked all of the flora on their way here, so the path would remain hidden for now.

This is the idea, but thinking no big trees around, just small shrubs and cactuses, so make small net with the wire and tie shrubbery together.

As Destiny would have it, Raven had stored away her datapad somewhere inside her armor, allowing her to take some pictures while Varina had been playing spotter for them. Pictures didn't help a whole lot now, but it would be vital in trying to glean more information upon reflection.

Retreating the way they'd come proved easy enough and the group was seemingly unnoticed when they made their exit.

With their tracks covered, and eventually a good distance away from the crater, and unpleasant brambles... Raven took a moment to remove any brambles still stuck inside the nooks and crannies of her armor.

"... I know some of you would probably like a good fight," she didn't look at anyone in particular as she said that, "but, our main purpose is to locate the Raiders first. I don't want to risk any of you by attacking blindly, where we don't know the numbers or the battlefield."

[Soleene Stryss]

Soleene brushed off some brambles from her armour likewise but got a feeling that this terrain just gave her far more homework to do later tonight when it came to cleaning.

She sighed softly but agreed with a few nods of her head. "Yeah, I got the feeling that we weren't going to charge in there after what we've seen, especially when they had their ships there and they're dug in that well. It was wishful thinking to think we could get the jump on them. This suddenly became a handful, that's for damn sure."

[Claymore Wren]

Claymore starts reeling in his net and rolling up into a ball to carry away. While doing that, he says, "See, I'm not just a pretty helmet..." He knows he's likely to get hit now.

After finishing the net, he dusts himself off. Then he pulls a few brambles off his armor. "I'm all for getting into fire fights, and breaking into Imp bases with you all... But, I would prefer dying in a firing crash on swoop-bike or something." He feels around to see if he has everything he should.

[Varina Ordo]

"Ah, well, that's why you have a whole Enclave, isn't it?" Varina asked, double-checking their path behind them. "I guess the real question is: are you going to offer any sort of parley or are you beyond talking at this point?"

[Raven Cadera]

Raven crossed her arms as she looked them over, stopping at Varina eventually.

"Praxton wishes to know why. As do I. As it seems to me, if the Raiders wished to kill us, they had better opportunities than just one man attacking a single one of ours. No... there's something else going on, put I can't put my finger on it. The Raider that Dex caught alive didn't know anything about why someone would do this..."

[Soleene Stryss]

"Rile us up, that's for damn sure," she said with a grumble before turning to look at the direction that they came from. "If they wanted us walking into a trap though, you'd think that they would do a better job of hiding until we got closer. A challenge would have been more obvious too, I bet."

[Varina Ordo]

Varina furrowed her brow. "Maybe the perpetuator was a plant to try to get our factions fighting against each other. Like the Empire, anybody really." Mandalorians were known for being contentious people.

[Raven Cadera]

That gave Raven pause, and she seemed to be lost in thought about it for a moment.

"Maybe. It would certainly be a dirty tactic, if it is the case... Mand'alor is pretty high up on the Empire's list of bounties, that's for sure. Especially after Kamda."

[Claymore Wren]

"Dirty is a matter of interpretation... some say the power is the same as honor. Gar is the lap dog of the Empire, and many believe his to be an honorable man, not a sniveling coward. "

[Varina Ordo]

"Dirty or not, it's not a bad plan," Varina said. She flicked open her knife and danced it in-between her fingers to jumpstart her violent tendencies. "Say I want to take down a rancor all by myself. That's kind of hard. But if there's an acklay too? Maybe I can pit them against each other then stab them both when they're weakened. And since I'm all by myself, nobody can complain that I didn't take them down the honorable way. I can make up whatever story I want once I have the trophies."
