Didn't they basically they turn a race of sentient lizard people into mindless war beasts over a few hundred years?

Of course alot of that happened in legends so it's not exactly Canon. :P

The Mandalorians also captured a large number of the reptilian Basiliskans, and through centuries of warfare they degenerated into little more than war mounts and beasts of burden, becoming known as "Lagartoz War Dragons".

Is what I was referring too. But that's all legends as I said, and they did infact steal their war droids as well.
