The best part of waking up. (Day 3 Mid morning Calypso's)

[Carden Willhol]

Carden sat at the bar of Calypso's a steam mug of coffee in his hands. A bit if sugar had sweetened it just enough to take off the bite but he had seemingly abstained from cream.

Tipping back the cup he took a seat as he waited fir his meal to arrive.

Another one joined the bar, covered up with a cloak concealing the armor underneath. Though it was still noticeable as she placed her gloved hands on the counter. Armored gloves.

Ordering coffee and some random number from the breakfast menu, she slumped a little bit with a heavy sigh. So tired...

Spotting another patron beside her, she nodded in greeting to Carden.

[Carden Willhol]

"Morning." Carden offereed cheerfully to the armored young lady that took a seat at the bar with him. He never really understood wearing armor everywhere, but he wasn't going to argue with a girls fashion choices either. That never got you anywhere.

[Raven Cadera]

"Morning." She lifted the coffee-mug in a salute of sorts.

"... Didn't think I'd see many other people here at this hour."

[Carden Willhol]

"It seems like the type of place for evenings and late nights." Carden replied taking a brief look around the diner for a moment.

"That doesn't mean the breakfast isn't good though "

[Raven Cadera]

"It is? ... Good to know, haven't tried this place before. New to the planet, so haven't really had the chance to try most of the places here." Pulling down the face-covering to under her chin, she brought the cup of coffee to her lips for a sip. And then quickly realised it was still too hot.

"You a local here?"

[Carden Willhol]

"New to the planet?" He raised an eyebrow at that. "Sight seeing or did you come for work?" it was likely the latter, this really wasn't the type of place many people came for sight seeing.

"Loca? Me?" He shook his head before taking a sip of his coffee. "Nah, I've been here before, but I'm no local, mostly just passing through for work and to see a friend."

"Work. And personal business," she murmured, blowing on her coffee so that it could cool enough for drinking. "What kind of work do you do?"

[Carden Willhol]

"No random guesses?" He asked with a raised eyebrow before continuing. "I'm a photographer, go out to new locales and take photos of people places and things."

"Sell em to people or news sources that sort of thing."

[Raven Cadera]

She snorted a brief laugh. "I don't think I could've ever managed to guess that, to be honest. Might be the first photographer I've met too... at least that I know about."

Sheesh. That probably would've been handy to have when they were scouting earlier.

"Is that something you have to go to school to learn, or... self-taught?"

[Carden Willhol]

"Either or really." Carden replied taking another sip of his coffee. "There are classes you can take in school, but the end result is what matters so being self taught isn't bad."

"Experience goes a long way after all."

[Raven Cadera]

"Ah, I see... figured you might've been some... fancy educated person or something." She chuckled with some warmth. Then remembered to never let Jyr see her writing or skill with math.

"So, you work with like... news outlets here? Or isn't the Empire into hiring freelancers perhaps."

[Carden Willhol]

"I've a bit of education, but it's not like I stare at textbooks all day either. You can only learn so much on your own after all. Especially if you maintain your own equipment."

"Not really any Imperial stuff, they're pretty big on doing their own thing. Local news though, and some local government work to help promote tourism. Then there is all the rest of the freelance work, weddings, special events. Local sporting events."

"Even worked with some private detectives a time or two." He finished with a chuckle.

Wow, she didn't know photographers lived such busy lives. Guess she had been taking for granted the few vids she saw of grav-ball and huttball.

"Huh. Seems like a pretty busy life," Raven spoke out loud her thoughts. "Is there something going on in town that you're doing covering then?"

[Carden Willhol]

"Well, you have to work if you want to eat." Carden replied as his meal arrived. "And there is a lot of competition out there."

"As for events? Nothing in particular. Was hoping to make my way to the bad lands or the swamp to see if I could find any interesting scenary."

[Raven Cadera]

She took a deep sip of the coffee now that it was a better temperature. "I've heard the wilderness here can be pretty rough. Sure you'd be ok out there?"

[Carden Willhol]

"Probably? Having a few friends along probably wouldn't hurt though." The wilderness could after all be wildernessy. Was that even a word?

"But that's usually the case when you're going out and about. into some of the wilder places of the galaxy."

[Raven Cadera]

"If you're looking for hired help, I'm a skiller hunter in myself," she offered. Might be easy pay, if it's just guiding some city-boy around the wilderness.

[Carden Willhol]

"Hrm, I might take you up on that sometime." Carden replied with a half smile. "A bit of hired help tends to keep trouble away." Though a lot also depened on the kinda of credits she was talking, if it was too much it wouldn't be worth it.

Her breakfast arrived, a pretty generous diner-styled platter with hashbrowns, scrambled eggs, bacon, even couple of banana-pancakes.

"Wildlife tends to steer clear of noisy people anyway, but on a planet like this where I hear there's all sorts of miscreants - those sound more like the type of danger one should be wary of."
