Appearance
The tall young woman carries herself with the ease of a seasoned warrior, confident in her prowess as a Mandalorian. Roots of someone who could one day be a leader has begun to show in her. When she speaks, it is with a Concordian accent that has been mingled in with various dialects of the Outer Rim, from a time when she had a need to mask her true origins - but since her full induction into the ranks of Mandalore the Rebuilder's group, she has no longer had the need to hide who she truly is.
While she has changed much in the past year, there is still a sense of somberness to her in moments of quiet and contemplation. Moments like these, her fellow Mandalorians have often observed that she enjoys to work on her armor, putting her deep emotions into painting the
beskar'gam - or by playing the harmonica. The once heavy burden of sorrow she carried before is still there, but now it is one she has found others to share it with, as well as hope for better times.
By some standards, she could be considered pretty. Mandalorian culture preferring more her fitness and muscular frame over the somewhat pretty face, whereas outsiders probably think she could stand to be more feminine. She has thick black hair that she keeps short, for easier maintance and ease with wearing a helmet most of the time, and her eyes (for those who have seen her face) are blue and expressive, often shifting between a deep sadness or a burning intensity.
The most noteworthy feature, is the impressive Mandalorian armor she wears. Most Mandalorians can tell that the armor is somewhat recently forged, probably a year or so, but clearly has already seen battle with the scars and marks to prove for it. It is an excellent work of craftsmanship, combining the hard plates of
beskar for durability with softer parts for unencumbered movement. The armor is ready with hidden and more noticeable weapons, like a wrist-mounted blade. Over her heart, the chestplate is decorated with a wing-like motif in black tinted in blue, a motif echoes on her left arm-guard, and briefly over the left-side of the face of her helmet. Often, and always when going into combat, she wears the
traditional Mandalorian hunting kama, which protects her legs and lower body from low-flying debris and shrapnel.
Additional information
Despite her youth and seemingly gentler sides, Raven Cadera is acknowledged among Mandalore the Rebuilder's ranks as a fierce and tenacious warrior. Shaped by nescessity through many years as an orphan that fled Imperial-controlled Mandalorian space, Raven learned from a young age to fend for herself and to be as independant as possible. Some among the group, like Dredgen, might remark on how she seemed more like a traumatized girl when she first appeared before Mand'alor, but he'd also be the first one to say how impressed he is with her spirit and how well she handles herself in a scrap. Where the two of them seemed to have a rocky relationship between them to start with, few can deny that Dredgen and Raven are now firm friends.
Though none can deny that it was Praxton, Mand'alor's own brother, whom had the most impact on her and her growth after joining the group, as the two of them quickly found a common ground as well as shared ideals. Raven at least, for her part, has grown much more as a warrior and as a person by finally feeling that she has someone she can truly call family again, and is quite honest when she says she is stronger because Praxton is in her life.
On Kamda, Raven was a thorn in the side for the Empire. Every time she met any of the Empire's lackeys in battle, it was victorious for her, and the ISB has pinned the massacre of a comm station on her and other persons of keen interest (like Phroth Lisskin), along with her being part of holding the line at the Kamdan spaceport during its violent uprising against the Empire. While the Empire had her briefly for a few hours, the transports driving her and other prisoners were met with violent ends - confirming for the Empire at least that she is likely to have ties to Mandalore the Rebuilder. While she is nowhere near as high as a priority as him, she has certainly caught some unwanted attention.
Hooks
- "My skills are for hire, if I find your cause just." - While she serves the Mandalorian cause first and foremost, Raven is not adverse to acting as a mercenary and serving worthy causes. Those who wish to oppose the Empire will certainly find an ally in her.
- "I will die before kneeling to the Empire. Kneeling to outsiders like Maul and the Empire only destroyed my people." - Raven is keen on anti-Empire stuff. Pro-Empire folks is more at risk for violent replies.
- "Music is the sound of the soul given voice." - Raven likes to get philosophical on music and has an appriciation for culture, much like the New Mandalorians, a part of her heritage she is not ashamed to say that she still holds dear to her heart. While her own skill is passable at best, she likes to play the harmonica.
- "I like to paint." - While pretty amateur by most standards, Raven is somewhat of an aspiring painter and enjoys to pass time with small projects here and there.
- "Have you heard of our Lord and Saviour, Mandalore the Rebuilder?" - While Raven has certainly had her disagreements with Mand'alor, she is also supportive of him and his cause, and is loyal to him.
