Familiar Places (Day 3, ME, Dol's)

[Jaxom Ursae]

The bakery was quiet late in the day. Jaxom slipped in and made his way to the counter.

"Do you have any sweesonberry rolls left?"

[Meiyokashi]

Dol was in his usual attire, a pink apron being the most notable one. With a little chime signaling Jaxom entering, Dol looked up from underneath the counter where he had been cleaning up. Upon seeing Jaxom he paused a moment as he wasn't sure what to make of it.

"Just brought the racks in the back.. I can go give a look?" he said, raising his brow.

[Jaxom Ursae]

"It's been a long time since I had one you made." he said. "I was hoping it was how I remembered."

[Meiyokashi]

"Should come by in the morning when they're fresh," he said, walking off toward the back. Throwing a white rag, a little dirtied but still pretty white, over his shoulder.

Out from the back his voice reverberated against the walls a little, "So, where have you been?"

[Jaxom Ursae]

"Kamda." he answered. "I tried to do something there. It didn't work out the way I wanted. Now, I'm trying to catch up with everything that happened here."

[Meiyokashi]

"How many years has it been, anyhow?" he asks, coming out from the back with a few of the rolls on a plate rather than a tray. Walking to the counter he sets them atop it and slides them over toward Jaxom.

[Jaxom Ursae]

"Eight." he answered, smiling at the rolls as he selected one. "Some things haven't changed, but I feel like there's a lot I don't know about."

[Meiyokashi]

"Eight years.." he repeated, at that time the bell chimed again as a younger woman entered the store. Dol looked up for a moment and passed her a quick smile before focusing back on Jaxom. "Been a lot that's gone on in eight years. Sure you seen a lotta folk went outta business around here, Non-humans mostly.. lotta new taxes we can't afford. Some folk claim it's against the poor but-" he shook his head, "just gotta go take a look around the lower city, if you dare to risk it, to see the truth of that."

Meanwhile the young woman walked in a bit and sat herself in one of the booths. She was a young woman with long reddish hair tied back into a tail behind her head. She was wearing a grey shirt with a brown leather-like jacket with grey cloth material lining the inside.

[Jaxom Ursae]

"I noticed. And, I've seen it before." He studied the woman briefly, before returning his attention to Dol. "How are things going for you? Anything I can help with?"

[Meiyokashi]

There was a brief familiarity to her, but he couldn't quite place it in the moment. Best he knew she looked like someone he might have known or seen, but who was a question not simply answered.

"Nah, nothing around here needs helping. I've got plenty enough that comes through my door," he gives a look toward the chime and a brief one toward the young woman. Focusing back on Jaxom, "I've been around the galaxy enough not to hate where it isn't warranted but," he spoke more softly now, just under his breath as he leans in, "lotta folk here still blame your family for a lot of their problems. Lucky is that most won't recognize you but.. be careful, alright? Don't need to hear anymore bad news these days," he said with a brief smile before glancing again to the young woman. With a nod toward her he looked to Jaxom and raised a finger for pause before slipping into the back.

[Jaxom Ursae]

"I figured." he nodded. "That's why I left and why my father stayed on the foundry. But, I've come back to help. I hope there are a few more who don't hate me."

He slid a credit stick over and glanced at the woman again. "I won't keep you. I know you have things to do."

[Meiyokashi]

Coming back out with a box Dol set it down before putting his hand over the stick and sliding it back over, "No need, they're mostly old. Just pass along the good will to someone else, hmm?" he said with a brief smile.

"Plenty of folk these days are blind, but plenty more know a good person when they see them," he reassured with a smile and then picked up the box again. Giving it a slight raise he called the woman's attention over and she followed.

Stepping up beside Jaxom she looked across to Dol and smiled, "Thanks," she said and slipped over a few credits. Dol in turn took them and slid them behind the counter.

"I hope you're right, Dol." He turned his attention to the woman. "You seem familiar, have we met?"

[Meiyokashi]

"No, don't think so?" she looked up with a quirked brow. Shrugging her hood down to give a better look. "Maybe.. you've seen me around, or maybe met my sister? Petra," she said, glancing to Dol with a light smile as she claimed up her order.

[Jaxom Ursae]

"Petra. Yeah. I don't really know her, but we've met." he nodded. "I'm Jaxom."

[Meiyokashi]

"Clara," she said with a brief smile. Shuffling the package around she managed to produce a free hand and extend it to Jaxom, "Pleasure. You've seen Petra around then? Haven't seen her much myself these days.. always busy running off doing, well, guess whatever it is her and her friends are up to these days."

[Jaxom Ursae]

"I helped her friends out with something." he explained. "I've been away for a while and was looking for some of my old friends."
