[MA D3] Scouting What Lies Within

Sol had been given warnings. Perhaps backup from a fellow one of the Forcie clique would have been useful, but considering that they'd been giving the warnings, it seemed unlikely. No, they weren't going to be storming the swamp in full, but it seemed silly to not get, at the very least, some impression of what lay in there.

Perhaps Sol would learn why that was a bad idea.

[Meiyokashi]

Journeying through the Grave Thorn swamps was never an easy task, and by the time he reached what many consider the deeper swamp he would be coated in muck and mud, much like any other. Yet, he persevered to this place. Here where the air felt cold and foreboding. A sudden chill at his nape that made all the hairs on his body stick up a little. Here at the border of the deep swamp he could feel the urge seeping into his sense to turn around.

[Solork Tan]

"So... sixth sense telling me to turn around, and that this is a bad idea... Check" The Gank shudders in spite of being heavily mechanical. His fingers go to the crystal in his pocket. He could swear that the gem delighted in being here.

"And yet, we move on. The Force will protect me" The Gank taps the sword on his back, letting out a breath he hadn't realized he was holding. "A blade will help"

He continues on

As he presses forward, the chill at his nape becomes ever more present.

Your downfall will be self made.

In spite of the presence, the Gank smiles.

Maybe all that mediation stuff is worth something after all

"Probably." He answers. "The odds that I am unmade due to my decisions before, or the path ahead aren't a bad bet. The first I cannot undo, cannot unmake. It took a long time to accept that. "

" As for the second, what's the alternative? to do nothing at all? Wait for someone else's whims to sweep me aside? That's not living, that's encasing myself in Carbonite and praying that the galaxy doesn't care. "

He continues his trudge onward, the idea that something doesn't want him here spurring him onwards

Onward he goes.

"I can't even count those who I have already" Sol feel a twinge as half remembered faces come back.

"That there will be more to come is to be taken seriously, but not a terrible surprise."

Seeping darkness didn't seem to penetrate him, thoughts of potential futures and the past harried him not, but despite his efforts he found himself suddenly walking back out the deep swamp the same way he'd entered.

Sol thought hard about turning back to try to trudge deeper. He had faced the darkness and not been pushed to his limit. But, in the end, he was alone here and he had learned much to share.
