Hunting Hounds (D4, EA)

[Raven Cadera]

Dressed the same way as the night before, Raven had been antsy about getting a move on ever since they got Sofia's message. Maybe, just maybe, they were getting closer to something.

Otherwise, she'd have to look into making a gorram big sign with huge lettering.

Not that it could be seen behind her visor, but she was looking around expectantly.

[Varina Ordo]

Varina kept her hands stuffed in her jacket as she glanced around. The city... Turned out she was still getting her bearings. "You ever think she's being too helpful?"

[Raven Cadera]

"A little," Raven murmured, checking one of her weapons before letting the cloak fall over it once more. "Dunno what she's getting out of it. Could be a trap. Or maybe she's hoping to ask some exorbitant payment at the end of it."

With a sigh, she looked at Varina. Yes, she felt some concern that Varina was still so lightly dressed. "Haven't gotten that many other leads though, so what choice do I have? Apart from wandering out there with a big sign."

They waited outside an unassuming apartment building. There were actually a few of them on the street and the folk in the area seemed more interested in getting on with their days than paying them any mind. Down the way a vigilant soul could notice Sofia making her way toward them leisurely, a drink held in hand as she walked down the road and paid passing compliments to a passing stranger.

[Manny Donos]

"Maybe she's just nice!" Manny put in enthusiastically. "Or she realized that we're cool. Or cute, huh? Wink." He winked at Varina.

He nodded. "And there she is. Guess we should go say hi, huh?"

[Raven Cadera]

Sofia had seemed interested in Varina. Maybe flirting? Raven was hardly the expert at telling if people were flirting.

"Yeah." Nodding, she gave a wave to Sofia to show that they had seen her, and to indicate where they were as she began to move in the young woman's direction. Not that it was hard to see Raven as she stood almost a head taller than Manny, and that was without her boots and helmet on.

[Varina Ordo]

"She's like... An adult! It'd be like if I dated Manny 'No Girlfriend' here." She gave her signature teenager glower to him before looking at Raven. "Well, guess we're always ready for a fight."

[Manny Donos]

Manny made a face. "Ewww, no, you're way too young for me. But... I think she's younger than me. So, uh, hmmm, divide by two, add seven... Varina, you're seventeen? So seventeen divided by two..."

His face scrunched up as he tried to figure it out.

[Sofia Hargrave]

"Hey," Sofia said when she finally caught up. Holding a drink that had a swirl in it and vaguely looked like caf. Glancing between everyone there she chuckled looking to Raven, "You ever take off that helmet?" and promptly took a sip of her drink.

[Raven Cadera]

"I do. On occassion," there was even some humor to her tone. "Nicer occassions, that is."

Her arms crossed over her chest. "So you found this Dob-who-looked-like-a-Reggie?"

[Manny Donos]

"She's totally older than sixteen and a half!" Manny put in suddenly.

[Sofia Hargrave]

"Seems sweaty," she shrugged, smirking as she glanced over to the building. However coming back to look at Manny with an amused grin. "This is the place- ready when you guys are but who are we talking about?"

[Raven Cadera]

If a helmet could look confused, Raven pulled it off pretty well as she looked at Manny's sudden outburst. "What the kriff..."

She shook her head. "I'm ready. I... think Manny's just getting himself confused trying to figure out how old you are. He should know better than to speculate on lady's age so openly." Yes, she was chiding him.

[Varina Ordo]

"Oh my gosh, can we go back to hunting people down?" Varina was definitely more teen than rugged wayfarer adult lady right now. It would have fit if she complained about how they were ruining her life too.

[Manny Donos]

"Sorry..." Manny had the grace to look awkward. "I just... you know... it's a complex math thing! I'd meant to have figured it out before."

He cleared his throat. "Yeah, okay, let's go."

[Sofia Hargrave]

Sofia took a renewed measure of everyone, Manny particularly and just laughed lightly to herself as she stepped toward the building. Turning around she gave a nod over her shoulder, "Well, let's go then," she said with a smile and then turned about and lead the way inside. With a raised hand she gets them to wait for a moment while she speaks with the clerk at the desk for a brief few minutes and returns sipping on her drink. "Up a few floors," she says, leading them over toward the lift and hitting the button.

"So.. this is all real fun, playing investigators. But- why are you guys looking for this guy again?"

[Raven Cadera]

Waiting. Ugh. She felt antsy.

Keeping herself calm, Raven crossed her arms as they waited. "I'm looking for the one who attacked my partner." A pause. "Not... not the ithorian, of course." She felt the need to clarify that, in case there was a misunderstanding.

[Sofia Hargrave]

"Nah.. didn't think so. Reggie ain't the attacking people type," she said, sipping her drink as the elevator arrived and she slipped in by the panel. Watching everyone shuffle in behind her the doors closed and it was just the four of them together in the small space with that light tension in the air. Quiet for a few moments before Sofia grew a bit bored and started humming gently to herself.

When the doors opened again she glanced to the group, "Well- let's go see what ol' Reggie knows, hmm?" she said, and lead the way down the hall toward room 308. Once there Sofia was quick to knock on the door loudly and announce their presence but there was no response. After a minute, she knocked again but still nothing.

Raven had a bad feeling about this.

It was probably paranoia, but she couldn't shake it, and she leaned against the door to listen for any suspicious sounds.

OOC: Perception to hear anything in the apartment? Is it a classic Star Wars door that opens with a control panel, or a "normal" door? xD

Shifting up toward the door Sofia took a space by the control panel that read out the room number on its screen in block letters. In some places these large metal doors manage to block most sound but anyone who's spent time in a building like this know there's plenty of failure points in them that it blocked practically nothing, most of the time.
