Beneath it All [Day 4, LA]

[Jaxom Ursae]

The lower city was largely as Jaxom remembered it. He had never spent much time here, but it was a good place to meet away from the prying eyes and ears of the world above.

From the outside the building looked like it might fall apart at any moment. Once he entered, it looked a bit more stable, but it was easy to see why it remained abandoned.

He looked around for his contact.

[Meiyokashi]

Stepping out to meet Jaxom in the main area of the house he was offered a familiar smile, "Jaxom. Thank you for coming," he said with his strong voice. Gesturing off toward one of the small rooms off the main way. Inside, now that it came into focus, the room had a small meeting area with a tarp hung up on the ceiling to keep it relatively clean for their purposes.

"I've.. got a favor to ask you," he said.

He followed and picked a spot out in the smaller room, after looking around.

"Well, I hope I can help. What did you need?"

[Meiyokashi]

"Jaxom.. you've done right by us," he spoke, the essence of his life as a professional soldier for many years apparent in his tone of voice. Walking in with Jaxom he took up a seat and indicated the one opposite him. "But we have a favor to ask of you and.. it's a big one. One I would normally prefer to not inform you of all the details but as this relies on something personal for you.. and considering your record, I think I'd rather not put you in the dark."

"We need access to some confidential information. Information.. your father would be privy to in his position."

[Jaxom Ursae]

"And, how am I expected to acquire that?" His tone wasn't defiant or annoyed. He was genuinely curious.

[Meiyokashi]

"Our hope is that you'll be able to make use of your connection with him. Family is a strong bond, regardless of your.. more recent difficulties," he grimaces, looking down and sighs. "I know I'm asking for a lot when I ask this but.. do you think if you were to attempt to make amends with your father he would be willing to meet with you?"

"If we can get you into that office it'll be the easiest chance we have of possibly getting what information we need and without much risk."

[Jaxom Ursae]

"Probably." he said. "It's been over eight years since I've said a word to him. I wasn't even sure if he was alive until now. But, the rift between us was mostly me."

"I think the bigger issue will be getting to him." he added. "It's not like I'm unknown to the Empire."

[Meiyokashi]

"No, it's not," he brings a hand up to scratch his chin. "Your father has continued to work in the foundry since last you saw him. The Empire attempted to award his loyalty with a promotion or two but he's declined them and maintains his station as he always has. Rarely does he come down planet-side to meet with anyone but perhaps.. an old foreman that worked under your father still does and makes regular trips planet-side. It's possible you could find him and get in contract with your father through this man."

"With contact.. if your father accepts he should be able to get you onto the station for your reunion. Then.. while you're there we just need you to get a spike into his system and it'll do the rest of the work."

[Jaxom Ursae]

"That... that is good to know." A measure of relief washed over him. "Over the years, as my perspective has shifted, I've gained some appreciation for the position he was in. Not speaking with him or knowing what happened, I could only hope that his actions were not out of loyalty to the Republic or the Empire, or for any personal gain. I'm hopeful."

[Meiyokashi]

"I hope you get some closure as well then but.. remember the need. Our people need the information from that spike," he reasserts.

[Jaxom Ursae]

"Of course. I'll do my best." he promised.

[Meiyokashi]

"Thank you Jaxom. You'll be helping the Kamdan resistance immensely," he gave a broad smile and rose from the seat. Revealing a comlink from his back pocket he holds it out to Jaxom, "Please, use this if you have a need to contact me- but only if you need to," he stressed.

"And any questions you have.. now would be the time as we shouldn't wait here too long."

[Jaxom Ursae]

"Oh, I have plenty of questions." he said. "What am I getting? How will it help? Will it hinder the Bellionasian efforts in any way?"

[Meiyokashi]

"Let's walk," he gives a nod and leads them out of the room. Turning away from the main-street, if anything could be considered a main street in the lower city, and walking down the less populated areas. "Hope is nothing we do here will bring attention on the people here but.. well, if things go poorly then no telling how the Empire might react. Aim is to make sure things don't go poorly though in the first place," he reassures.

"Information we need now is in bulk- some more useful now than later, but what we need now is access to the records of shipments made in the past decade. One ship in particular that was lost with all hands mid-transit, believed to be a tragic accident, had one last check in before going dark. We hope to make use of the building materials that should still be on that ship.. if we can find it. It'd keep our methods and construction discrete and away from the Empire's watchful gaze. And you.. well, few favors you've racked up in your time. You do this and we can get those squared away, settled."

[Jaxom Ursae]

"That's not what I meant when I asked what I was getting." he shook his head. "But, it's appreciated. When is this foreman next expected to come down?"

[Meiyokashi]

"Sorry, didn't mean to mark you different," he gave a half smile and dipped his head in apology. "We'll have to get eyes on him but word is that he makes pretty regular visits. Could be something you might look into yourself if you can. Few words around town with the right folk might get you what you need," he suggested.

[Jaxom Ursae]

He nodded. "I'm getting reacquainted with a few people."

[Meiyokashi]

"That's good.. that's good," he said, his thoughts drifting elsewhere as the came toward the end of the alley they were walking through. Glancing over Jaxom he gave the man a read to see if there was anything else he needed.

[Jaxom Ursae]

"I'll contact you once things are arranged." he said.

[Meiyokashi]

"Thank you, Jaxom. You're doing the people of the galaxy a great favor," he says, turning to Jaxom and offering his hand.
