(D4, LM) Have You Heard the Latest?

Radio seems so old-fashioned in these days of holovids. But that's what Petra's friends are up to, and hyping a new performance...of some sort...is reasonably in her wheelhouse. Plus she gets to pass along the word that she picked up some new material while away for a bit. So she does the circuit--bars with all manner of themes, restaurants from greasy to greasier.

Leaning across the counter of the better noodle shop (as opposed to the one where you tend to take your chances on food poisoning or incompatible with human biology plant material in the meal), she finishes her conversation with the owner a moment before the noodles arrive. "Yeah, I guess that's the station frequency? Not sure what all will be planned, but Petra says it's all kinds of big announcements."

The Karkarodon was not really one for whipping people into action. Phroth was more the spear tip of the action. The doer rather than the leader. And his attempts to get people to listen in just... was clumsy.

And that clumsiness made him hungry. He wandered through the crowds till he came across a certain noodle shop. Ducking beneath the door as he entered, the tall sharkman moved to the counter, and sat down.

Looking about, he recognized the Bothan, the singer from last night.

"I liked your performance last night. You're really good." He was blunt, offeringna very toothy smile.

Leaving a credit chip on the counter as she slides her own bowl over, she turns to see who's speaking...and then looks up. Even sitting on the tall stool, she was pretty much looking at the towering Karkarodon's sternum. Her own smile reveals sharp canines and a bit of surprise. "Thanks! Spotted you in the crowd...you're kind of hard to miss even in this part of the city. Tall, good-looking guys with amazing teeth are kind of in short supply here. Glad you liked the show." She scoots a little so there's space to get by if he's planning to perch on one of the stools. They look like they're probably sturdy enough...probably.

Her flyers rest on the counter, radio info. scrawled in silver near the bottom. "Well, you don't really need a flyer for the show then, though if you're in town a while, I guess there's some radio coming online soon if you like that kind of thing." After a pause, she adds, "at least, I kind of assume you're not from around here...that hard to miss thing. But if I've missed you all this time, wow...sorry about that."

"Only arrived a few days ago. So... yeah. Pretty not from aroubd here." His grin widened at her compliment, a hint of blue added to his cheeks. Taking a seat on a stool, ordered some noodles. A double order, really. Extra meat. Barely cooked, if possible.

"And yeah... I'm into that radio sort of thing. Was... trying to get the word out myself. But I'm more the one that does the uh... heavy lifting than the inspiring others, if that makes sense. Subtlety isn't what I'm about." He nodded to the flyers, hoping she'd get that he was with the resistance.

"You? Not subtle? My, that's hard to believe," she says with an even broader grin. "I don't know about the inspiring part on my end either though. I guess the show's supposed to be inspiring? Or something like that."

Stirring the noodles a bit aimlessly, she adds. "It's super important to Petra...and it makes Cayde nervous." She shrugs. "I'm out passing flyers half the day anyway, so I may as well help her out and annoy my sib just a little, you know?"

Trying for a bit of that subtlety, she asks, "in town specially for all that, then?"

"For the most part. I tend to be drawn to places that need my help. Even after all this time, I'm trying to stick to the old ways. Or... what the old ways should have been." Something key that he had been meditating on, sometimes with the spirit of his old Master.

"Was on Kamda, for a spell. Coming here made sense. Seems to have something brewing, and I've got broad shoulders and a strong back I can add in to help."

"Oh? I was on Kamda just recently...for like a week. NIce enough place. But....The old ways..." Dhel huffs with amusement. "Don't even know what that was like. Petra...who doesn't know either...keeps saying stuff was better before. Hard to see from here." There's no real rancor to the comment as she scoops, and slurps, her noodles.

"Lots has changed in a short amount of time." He replied, rubbing his webbed hands together as the large bowl was set down before him. Whatever the meat was, looked bloody as hell, and made the karkarodon grin.

There was nothing elegant in the way he devoured the noodles. Voracious would be the best descriptor, as he slurped and chomped. A third of the meal was gone in an instant, setting the bowl down and wiping his maw.

"Kriff, these are good."

"Yeah, they're better than the other place, unless you've got a strong stomach...which you might," she says appraisingly, not appearing to be fussed by sharky table manners. After some of the insectoid races, this is pretty normal.

"But what's changed? Obviously war, and different people in charge of things, but It's not like the Lower City wasn't crummy before."

"Yeah, they're better than the other place, unless you've got a strong stomach...which you might," she says appraisingly, not appearing to be fussed by sharky table manners. After some of the insectoid races, this is pretty normal.

"But what's changed? Obviously war, and different people in charge of things, but It's not like the Lower City wasn't crummy before."

"Stomach of durasteel." The words were cut off by another devouring of the bowl, the barely cooked meat disappearing, before he politely wiped his face with a napkin.

"I suppose that's true question. Less people in ivory towers contemplating the universe and commanding millions of vat grown soldiers against billions of factory churned out droids destroying everything they touch." A hint of resentment in the words, before looking more fully at Dhel.

"Maybe something will change now. With what's growing, yeah?"

Dhel uses the chance to eat as well, though the quantity is smaller. Listening, she's stalled in her usual attempt to make light of anything slipping toward politics by the obvious emotion. "But they're not doing all that now. War's been over a while." Still she frowns a bit, with all the droids she's been seeing in town who were obviously built for that war...maybe something else was going on beyond the odd little stuff here?

Still she smiles in what she thinks is a hopeful fashion. "Maybe? Petra...that's a friend of mine...she's been really into what Mara's saying, but like...impatient. I guess now there's something happening? Just...A lot of folks went off poking at that war and didn't come back. And far as I can tell, I'm not sure it would have made any real difference who won it as far as our lot now."

Looking up at the toothy man who's at least three times her mass and can obviously take the fight to wherever he thinks it ought to be, she asks, "how do you know that a change needs to come and...and who's worth helping to get that done?"

He smirked at that. "A feeling." Sitting up a bit taller, he turned to more fully take in Dhel. "And trusting in the good in people. Hope shines through like a star on a dark sky. Even dim, it's there, guiding you. At least, guiding me. That's how I figure in going about helping people." He beamed a bit at that, as if feeling his old Master right there by him.

A moment passes, then realizing something. "Oh, uh, lemme buy your lunch."

Dhel trying to consider how you could steer by a feeling, blinks as she catches up with the last bit. After a moment, she grins, "What? you figure I need some help?" Her tone is teasing, rather than offended by the idea.

"I mean, I'm not going to say no, but usually I'm offering at least a little performance for the favor. So it's kind of a surprise."

"You put up with my less than stellar table manners." He chuckled, and then nodded, missing the whole comment about performances being offered. "It's the least I could do." He indicated to throw her bill onto his.

"Every day should have a little task done just for the sake of goodness, yeah?"

[Dhelih Dotaivi]

"Pfft. I've seen way worse table manners. Even wiped your chin!." Dhel waves off any suggestion of improper etiquette. "Every day, huh?" There's a moment of introspection. "I guess that at least changes someone's day a little bit. Could add up, yeah?"

"So...tell me your name, so you're not just that 'Karkarodon down front' next time you come watch me." She just takes it as a given that he will come and watch again. "Maybe share a drink after?"

"Phroth. Phroth Lissken." It still amazed him that he could so easily slide back to his trus name, after being hidden as Tranq for so many years. But that was part of walking this path again.

"And yeah. If every person in the galaxy just tried to do a little good every day? Imagine the state then."

[Dhelih Dotaivi]

"Well, knowing at least a few who'd go out of their way to avoid doing a good deed, I can guess the whole galaxy won't get there anytime soon. But it could make even a little space better to live in." Dhel nods slowly, scooping up her remaining flyers to continue on her route with. "Good to meet you, Phroth Lissken."

"See you around, then," she adds, heading out in a better mood than she'd arrived.
