"Don't forget about my mom," Varina said. "Maybe she was in the market for buying things too." She shrugged and put her ear close to the entrance, one hand on her rapier.

[Meiyokashi]

Leaning her ear up against a source of sound emanating through the solid surface Raven traces around a little, to find the source where it's strongest. Dirtying herself up a little against the wall but not without fruitful information as she locks in on her target. Listening for a few minutes she can hear the distinct albeit quiet chatter of a show playing in the background. Further in the back, toward the balcony, she can even hear the sound of a fan that whirrs and occasionally clicks against itself. However, she doesn't hear anything else as the room appears to be quiet.

Varina too hears this, and is able to largely confirm the strangeness of the situation as it seems likely that someone would be inside but there is no sound of a being stirring.

Standing around like grazing nerfs wasn't going to get them anywhere. While most people would've opted for a blaster bolt to the door's panel, Raven smashed her armored fist into it, causing the usual system override of opening the door.

With a hand hovering near her blaster in its holster, she swiftly slipped inside...

Varina flexed her fingers in her sap gloves instead of using her rapier like she'd originally thought. They were supposed to be questioning people and it was difficult to answer questions with a hole in the throat.

Sofia held up a hand- "We can just see if it's-" crashing sound of a broken panel- "unlocked.." her voice lowers as she watches Raven go in. Looking then to the other two with a shrug she sips at her drink and lets the team do their thing.

From just inside the doorway, the room was dark, the window in the back tinted the only light in the room came from the screen facing the unmade bed and the little bit that poured in from outside. At the doorway it was immediately clear that the room was a mess with clothing, pillows, and all sorts of things haphazardly thrown about the room. From the light of the screen they could see a large streak of something dark across the back wall.

Something that hit everyone other than Raven immediately was the horrid stench in the room, Raven's suits systems doing their job.

Were all aruetiise so filthy and unclean in their own home, she wondered briefly as she took in the scene. Not seeing any clear sign of danger at least, she waved that it was safe to enter... then continued further into the room herself to see if she could find this Ithorian. Dead or alive.

Then the smell kind of crept in. Dead seemed more likely now.

With the enhanced optiocs Raven is able to see much more clearly in the room, although at the front its still just a mess of objects. As she moves further inside she can see over a couch near where the screen is set up, and beyond that a bed. Between this couch and bed she see's a large mass laid out on the floor. A bit closer, and she confirmed those suspicions as an Ithorian corpse came into view.

As the discovery was made the room flashed into color as the light came on. Sofia standing at the door way with her hand on the switch, and the sentence, "Kriff it's dark in here," registering a moment later.

"Haar'chak," she murmured at the mess of the obviously dead Ithorian. Going down to one knee beside the corpse, she tried to get a look at what might've killed him... the others living here might've heard a blaster bolt, after all.

He had left the motel yesterday morning, so at least she could give a guess at how long he'd been dead. "Sorry about your friend, Sofia," she commented, almost a touch somberly.

"Someone's trying to cover up their tracks it seems."

[Sofia Hargrave]

"Not really my friend," Sofia comments, her hands already rifling through small closet with shelving space by the entrance. Glancing over her shoulder into the room she shrugs, "Talk to you guys more than I talk.. talked to ol' Reggie. Just makes this whole trip all the more interesting really," her voice is half muffled as she leans into the closet to reach around a few large ithorian sized jackets.

"Varina," Raven gestured for her sister to join her. This would be a good chance for the younger member to prove herself. "Your input?"

Varina swallowed any bit of disgust in her system and got to work. These were her nice, punching people gloves too that would need some washing afterwards. "Poor guy," she muttered. "Let's see what you got yourself involved in, hm?"

Upon closer inspection the first and most notable thing is that one of his arms were cut clean off at the forearm, the other half landing and being kicked off to the side. Which means that whoever his attacker was he'd at least had enough time to see it coming before he died. The arc on the back wall suggesting that the slash which lopped off his arm came from an underhand cut. After the first cut the only others found on the body are two place low in the chest with evidence to suggest that the Ithorian was raised off his feet by these deep stab wounds and then thrust off the blade onto the ground. With the pooling around him the only luck he had was that he died quickly after the mortal wounds.

The chest wounds, based on what could have been seen after Praxton's attack, seem to match up with Carid's style of execution.

Checking through the rest of his person there's a few credit sticks that slip out of his pocket, a communicator that was broken in the fall, and a small blood-soaked book that upon opening was unfortunately completely soaked through making the writing completely illegible.

That bastard... it wasn't that she felt too much for the dead Ithorian, but the thought crossed her mind that this almost could've been Praxton.

The credits, while useful, did not interest her. The broken comm on the other hand... maybe Clay or someone could fix it, and they could see if there was anything useful on it. Likewise, the book seemed currently to be useless, but perhaps something could still be gleaned from it at a closer look.

"Let's do a sweep of the place and leave. I don't want to stay here too long..."

"Ugh..." Manny groaned. "This is awful."

Still, he did as she suggested, and helped Varina to search the rest of the place.

Varina pocketed the dead Ithorian's credsticks. Not like he needed them anymore. Still, she did look to Sofia and ask, "Do you know if he has any family or something like that? Or is he going to just be some dead guy for the morgue to take care of?"

[Sofia Hargrave]

"Any family he might've had isn't anywhere near Bellionas, far as I know," she poked her head back out of the closet, a small device of some sort in her hand. Checking it over while she continued, "Most everyone who stays at the motel is like that though."

Seemed reasonable enough. Guy probably wouldn't live at a motel if he had family nearby.

Moving up beside Manny, Raven made sure he was doing alright as they did a sweep on the apartment.

Choking down his urge to vomit, Manny searched the apartment with Raven's help.
