Korvin is clearly exasperated, but as he listens to Nara actually starts to feel like she's making some sense. How did... He goes from shaking his head to actually nodding by the time she ties the metaphor together.

"That's... That's actually a pretty good metaphor," he admits quietly. "You're right, I need to ask questions and listen. It'll help the relationship," he says with an affirming nod. There is a small voice in his head whispering Wait, you're actually listening to this bullet train through crazy town?

"So like, what's the longest relationship you've had with a person? I mean, you don't need to tell me... I'm just curious," he says, seeming to have decided Nara is with getting to know.

"Ummm, I feel like family is cheating. But if it isn't my parents for like, my entire life. We go way back. But for romance and stuff?"
Her brow furrows slightly
"There was a Zabrak arms smuggler I really hit it off with when I first left home. She had a really great-"
Nara turns her hands face up and mimes cupping
"-collection of grenades. And a killer rack too. But she was also funny, she'd get so exasperated sometimes and then her accent would get really thick and I'd start laughing and then she'd get mad and the accent would get worse and I'd have to apologise and go clean the ship to show I meant it."
Snorting loudly
"It was super hard to understand though! Not my fault at all. Think we did a couple years together before she wanted to settle down and I kinda..didn't."
There's a slight wince

"Ummm. Then after that there was this nerdy human. Now normally I don't go human, because they're basic as stars. But this guy was an amazing chemist and super sweet. Met him at an arms deal....now I think about it that's usually how I pick people up. Makes sense though, everyone there has similar interests. He was selling this knockout gas and he just-"
Nara starting laughing louder and louder
"-He just said 'but you're the real knockout' in front of everyone! Oh it was the worst line, like, actually. And he was so nervous so he kinda stuttered it. Guy had no game."
Laughter subsiding, mostly
"So after that I just had to take him out to dinner and yeah, he was kinda cool. Not much good at the physical stuff but I think I showed him a few pointers. That one was just a real passionate fling, was still getting my last partner out of my system. Think he's gone of to become a super villain now? I still get cards sometimes."

"Um, wow... Two years, huh. That's great. But you're... kinda older than me," he says, not trying to be mean but verbalizing as he thought through their differences.

"But you didn't want to settle down? Like even though you really liked this person?" Korvin looks intensely curious about this point.

“Yeah, two years. Wow, long time, right? I thought about going steady, buying a house and all that. But I get all sorts of itchy if I’m not out there doing stuff. That and she was talking about kids and”
Tapping her gun
“That’s scary talk. I don’t know how to raise a kid, I don’t even think my parents did. At least, I hope they didn’t or that reflects real bad on me.”

finishing up her drink with a sad slurp
“Don’t let me stop you though.”

"Hey, I don't think your parents did so bad," Korvin says with a friendly smile. Are you listening to yourself right now?

"And kids would be scary, like, especially when you're young. Parenting is... I dunno. Clearly hard," he says emphatically. "I mean, my parents had time and resources and I'm... sharing my life story with a near stranger who a second ago I was threatening over chips." He chuckles and smiles at her conciliatorily.

“Hmmm. Good point. But it’s always easier to share with strangers. I mean, you might never see them again, they don’t know you.... gotta always share the chips though that’s law.”

“But for now I’m single and ready to mingle! Might try and find a cute res- uh, co-worker to shack up with for a bit. Then again if everyone’s lame I still got my love of weapons. Oh, and you should totally introduce me to your girl some time so I can give her some pointers. There’s this thing you can do if your right hip is real flexible, it’s a killer.”

“Oh, well no one’s perfect I guess. I swear nobody on this rock is as interested in weaponry as they should be. At least you guys have a street racing scene.”

Nara leans back in her chair for a moment before quickly jumping to her feet.
“Stars! I better get going. I promised a friend I’d go throw money at her! I got this mean underarm I’m just dying to demonstrate.”
Which she indeed does with the last fry, pitching it out the door and into oblivion.

“I’ll catch you round Korvin. Just keep doing what you’re doing with your girl, but better. And don’t let your dreams be dreams or whatever the local equivalent is.”
With a wide smile she shoulder her rifle and hurries out the door
