Day 4 EA: Chromedomes

[J-Richo Toboga]

J-Richo was sitting by the window of the apartment he had possession of on the edges of the lower residential area. It was not fancy but he had a good amount of space, a good view, defensible location and access to the city's power lines.

As he kept a silent watch he busied himself to clean his heavy blaster rifle from all the gunk that had accumulated.

Right below of where Toboga was, a weird sight was happening. Bixe was walking through the streets of the lower residential areas, looking for a mechanic.

Not for it, as the droid was in perfect condition. Sort of. No, it was looking for a mechanic for it newly acquired weapons, but to no avail.

But the droid was nothing but persistent and continued looking around, even though it could be dangerous for it to be in the open like this....

J-Richo looked down when he noticed movement...and was fairly surprised

That BX unit again...Maybe we'll have a chance to speak

''Hey'' he called out ''How are you doing?''

Bixe noticed that someone was talking to it and look up.

''<<Scanning. Organic being recognized. J-Richo of Clan Toboga. Engaging social protocols. Answering matrix engaged. Calculating, solution found. Delivering>>....'' It would seem that the droid was still engaging with it weird quirky form of speak. ''<< Unit BXE-322 is fine this day, J-Richo of Clan Toboga. No drop in efficiency has been detected....>>'' The droid replied to the mandalorian.

'' <<Currently looking for a mechanic in order to increase efficiency threshold>>...'' It adds.

''What type of hardware are you looking to upgrade?''

The droid was already a pretty good shot and improvement would be dreadful to their enemies.

''Why don't you come in? It will be more comfortable to speak''

'' <<Roger, roger>>...'' The droid nods, accepting the mandalorian invitation. It didn't need more confort, it was a droid after all. Confort was an organic concept that didn't apply to it, but its social protocols told it that it probably was best for engage in the social norm of this organic being.

Bixe enters the building and after going up, and looking up for the room that the mandalorian was using, it entered.

'' Social protocols engaged. Query asked. Searching for solution. Optimal solution found, delivering. Unit BXE-322 is looking for a mechanic interested in buying the parts that Unit BXE-322, J-Richo of Clan Toboga and the other droids acquired after defeating the hostile beings known as Gonks.>>...'' It said.

'' Unit BXE-322 needs credits in order to improve itself and elevate its efficiency threshold in order to be able to achieve its mission>>...'' It adds.

One thing that can seem evident to the droid is that the room where J-Richo seemed to be taking residence is fairly spartan. There was neither bed nor kitchen either...only boxes and rubble shaped into either storage or barricades.

The mando himself was on a box

''I am in similar situation. We may need to clean up our salvage before we sell it though...and might have to sell it offworld.'' He carefully scrubbed more burned gunk (or gonk?) from the side of his weapon

''I do wonder...what exactly is your mission?''

Mission objective, information classified. Approval only through owner's permission override>>...'' The droid replied to the mandalorian. It would seem that there was some sort of security mechanism on the droid that didn't allowed it to divulge such information. At least not the specifics of it.

Or it could be that it was just broken, or had a damaged software.

''<<Answering matrix engaged. Solution found. Delivering. Finding a black market dealer could also allow the sell of those items, in exchange for credits. >>...'' The droid adds as it inspected the mandalorian with its white photoreceptors. ''<<Unit BXE-322 improvement of its armored frame, in accordance to similar pattern to J-Richo's of Clan Toboga armor style could enhance the efficiency threshold>>...'' It said.

The mando agreed with the efficiency of his armor ''Chitin proved itself to be far more resilient then I ever expected...it's not beskar resilient but it holds better then plasteel''

he raises his visor to meet the photoreceptors of the BX unit

''That said I am curious as to know who is your 'master'...I almost expected you to be somewhat of a free droid like Scat.''

Owner's information classified. Approval only through owner's permission override>>...'' The droid replied once again. Whether this was a strange quirk or the owner's of this droid paranoia it was not clear.

'' Introducing metal plates from the material known as beskar, would be indeed a way to increase efficiency for unit BXE-322. As this moment, unit BXE-322 has suffer no damage to its frame, but calculations running through current events and archives, show an increase probability of suffering damage.>>...'' The droid adds.

''Does your current owner's authority supersedes CIS command?'' he asked

'' <<War ended 13 years ago. Unit BXE-322 received and accepted order to shutdown. Confederate of Independent Systems does not exist anymore. Unit BXE-322 no longer has ties to any entity that calls itself CIS>>....'' The droid replied in its usual form. '' <<Owner has access to all protocols>>...'' It adds.

[J-Richo Toboga]

''Thirteen years...It's been that long heh?'' he nods, thinking about something ''Are you your own owner?''

Would that ease up things

'' <<J-Richo of Clan Toboga, ..ERROR...DATA CORRUPTION...ERROR. Query asked. Running answering program. Clearance subprotocols engaged. No clearance to deliver information. Owner's information classified. Approval only through owner's permission override>>...'' Again the droid replied the same way as before.

'' Engaging Social protocols. Social Pattern matrix engaged. Calculating. Solution found, Delivering. Unit BXE-322 has a question for J-Richo of Clan Toboga. Permission asked for delivering query to him>>....'' The droid seems to wants to ask something to the mandalorian.

[J-Richo Toboga]

''Go ahead...I've certainly asked my share of questions so it's only fair.'' he inspected the barrel of his weapon then let it rest on the nearby wall.

''<<Unit BXE-322 has noticed that there are mandalorians in the nearby, besides J-Richo of Clan Toboga. BXE-322 does not understand why J-Richo of Clan Toboga is here alone. Unit BXE-322 knows that organic beings tend to gather alongside others of their same culture. Why is J-Richo of Clan Toboga not with others of his kin- Query delivered. Waiting for answer. Stand by>>...'' The droid asked.

''That...'' he leaned back, thinking ''...can be complicated but I will do my best to explain''

He gazed outside for a second before beginning his answer

''The Mando'ade are not a unified people. They have not been for a long while...Short version of the story is that what remained of the Mandalorian faction I belong to was expelled for Mandalore like many others following a long civil war about 30 years ago. My battle brother and the man who made me take my oaths was a survivor from the diaspora that formed following the forced exile. We are a hardy people but those who survived the war and the exile had to then deal with attacks from scums like the hated Death Watch and other opportunistic vultures. With our ability to recruit or increase our numbers restrained...our forces and resources began to dwindle.''

He paused

''The clone wars did not help...My brother was afraid he might have been the last of his clan until he accepted me amongst his people...suffice to say that those in exile were hardly made aware of the daily affairs of Mandalore. I do not know how or why the other mandalorians present here joined together and those I met did not volunteer any more information.''

'' <<Adding information about J-Richo of Clan Toboga. Overwritting>>...'' The droid expressed. '' <<Engaging social protocols. So mandalorians are not a unified people you said. Interesting. Do you continue to fight each other or did the war of defense against the Republic ended your civil war? Query Asked. Waiting for reply. Stand by>>...''' The droid asked further.

''I do not know for sure'' he shook his head ''Like I said...the diaspora I became a part of were seldomly informed of the politics of the new mandalorians.'' he considered for a moment ''But I would wager some still fight against some''

''<<It would seem that organics have reactivated other droids from the former entity known as Confederation of Independent Systems, but other than Technical Sargent Unit 1COR-059372, this unit has not detected any other of its kind and purpose>>'' It adds.
