[D5 LM] I Couldn't Help but Admire Your Sword (Expecting)

It has been a while, Solork being effectively absent for weeks after the station first went online. The curfew has ended as he hits the streets and comes into the Press. He looks...different somehow, which is surprising considering that he is still wearing a mask and armor. This time, his sword is more prominently strapped to his back, no longer wearing it at the hip like before.

"Any word on work yet? I'm afraid that I've let myself get antsy"

[Deonis Harik]

Deonis hadn't been absent but had hung around the press doing anything that needed done and helping out what ways he could.

Hearing the gank speak he turned "depends on the work you're looking for." Came the gruff reply from under his helmet.

[Solork Tan]

"Something that keeps my hands moving would be best I think" The gank looks over at the masked figure.

"Harik, right? I didn't get the chance to compliment you on your swordplay the other day. Well done."

There was something...off about him though. Sol couldn't quite place it at the moment.

[Deonis Harik]

Deonis nodded "Deonis. Thank you. I have practiced with a blade most my life." He replied, the hilt of his oversized vibroblade peeking from over his large armored shoulder.

"You also use a sword yes?" He asked nodding to Solork's own blade. While he wasn't being actively threatening or aggressive there was a generally unsettling aura around him that spoke to violence and fear.

[Solork Tan]

"Yes. I'm afraid that it's not quite as wide, but it does the trick well enough." Something about the man triggered a deep primal part of the Gank. "It's a bit older, an unpowered model. I used to use vibroweapons too, but after being shown a few things in a new style, the extra mass isn't suited to the forms, so I adapted."

The Gank inclines his head. "Say what you want about the range of a blaster, a weapon that doesn't make a loud "PEW PEW PEW" noise certainly has an element that cannot be denied."

Deonis nodded "weapons with weight are different." He agreed "not much for stealth, swords never run out of ammo. Even if they power down still a 5 foot length of sharp metal." His tone was sort of amused.

[Solork Tan]

Sol nods. "Bludgeoning does have its charms." He eyes the armored figure. They had to have a great deal of strength. The Gank was acutely aware of how much force was needed to swing a five foot piece of metal. The aura the being had didn't scare him away. If anything, it made him curious.

"Do you get a lot of practice against other melee weapon users?"

Inquisitors were always a threat and Sol could never be too prepared to face one.

[Deonis Harik]

"Not so much. Most like to use blasters. Happens every once in a while." He said roughly "you?"

[Solork Tan]

"I had someone for a while. Kept me sharp, showed me a few things to improve on my footwork" Sol's head lowers a touch. "But they're not available anymore."

[Deonis Harik]

Deonis shrugged a little "can't promise to teach you anything. Just want to keep sharp though? I can help with that."

[Solork Tan]

"Sharp is good. There's always someone better out there, and they tend to be merciless when they find you. I'd enjoy the chance"

Sol motions toward an empty section of the building. Not many people have shown up yet and they have room for a spar. The Gank draws his blade, concentrating as he steels himself with the Force

"I'm ready when you are"

Deonis comes out strong clearly able to manuver the massive blade with not just force but also precision and control. The force enhancing his already formidable strength.

Perhaps Sol was taken off guard by the speed of the hulking man but it seemed the gank adjusted quickly

The strength seems unreal, and the Gank is taken by surprise, but battle training helps him adjust. He wins, barely and is panting by the end.

"You... Can do it too?"

[Deonis Harik]

"reinforce my strength with the force?" he asked regarding the gank if he was impressed by the other warrior's prowess it was difficult to tell.

"I felt you draw on it." he commented as he sheathed his blade on his back.

[Solork Tan]

(I'm assuming that's what the Triumph gets used for lol)

"You shouldn't have had so much force from your stance a few times. I shouldn't have been able to knock you over there, but" Sol motions. "I do the same thing. But yes, that's what I was doing too"

[Deonis Harik]

Deonis nods "a simple trick but useful. One of the first things I was taught to do with it." He emphasized the last word to leave no confusion on what he was talking about, the force they both felt and manipulated.

[Solork Tan]

Sol offers a grimace. "I'm afraid that I am a bit of a one trick Father. It's all about reinforcing myself, or other things"

[Deonis Harik]

"A good trick to have if it's your only one. You likely could do more. With a little instruction. Have you already been taught or did you discover your abilities on your own?"

[Solork Tan]

There is a flicker of... Something of unease in the Gank's face at the comment. "I've had teachers. In the end though, they were more interested in the philosophy and meaning of it rather than " Five new tricks that will change your life". What I can use it for, that's been all me"

[Deonis Harik]

Deonis snorted "sounds like Jedi." He said with a sense of amusement in his voice. "No problem with them just too much caution and restraint. I was trained for action."
