[D5, LA] Does she talk about me?

[Korvin Hikarrin]

With a window of time free, Korvin went in search of Petra for a completely un-resistance-related reason. Still conscientious to watch out for being followed and such, he carefully made his way to the abandoned store and back into the hideout.

"Alright," he says to himself calmingly, "is she here or at the press..."

[Jaxom Ursae]

Jaxom was there looking around. He was also looking for one of the resistance leaders, though not necessarily Petra. He should have introduced himself that first night. It was likely that they were aware of who he was and of his history on Bellionas, but it was still something that should be discussed, especially considering the risk he would soon be taking.

[Meiyokashi]

Hunched over a few large boxes in one of the far corners of the back room Petra was half inside of it and digging out what seemed to be the most random assortment of items imaginable. Leaning in a bit too far she almost slipped inside but managed to catch herself against the outside of the box with her knee, grunting a little when she slid in a bit.

[Korvin Hikarrin]

"Hey Petra," Korvin calls happily, just before she almost face-plants in the box. "Uh, can I help you with... that?" He's eager to be helpful, though he has zero understanding of what he's offering to help with.

[Petra]

"No!" she calls out, the slight hint of annoyance to her tone from him even asking. With a little more struggling she leans and slips back out of the box. Holding in her hands an old.. well, it was kinda hard to tell what it was! Some kinda gadget or gizmo!

[Jaxom Ursae]

Jaxom was leaning against the far wall, watching. He was curious about what she had, but he wasn't going to interupt Korvin.

[Korvin Hikarrin]

"Er, ok," he says, a little confused. "Um, is that the last thing you need?" He waves vaguely to her other... things. "I can help carry stuff. Whatever all this is," he chuckles and smiles at her.

[Petra]

Petra glances down to the object in her hand, over toward Jaxom, and then back to Korvin. "You.. lookin' for something?" she askes with a quirked brow, tilting her head ever so slightly to the right with the question. Eyes bearing down onto him a little like she's caught a whiff of something suspicious.

[Korvin Hikarrin]

Korvin's smile actually shines a little brighter as he no longer has to feign interest in the do-hickeys.

"Well, you, actually. I wanted to talk to you about something. I mean, I don't want to interrupt what you're doing if it's really important, but I probably just need a few minutes. So can we talk? You know, now?" Without meaning to, Korvin had slipped into speaking more like Nara Phln, the sentences rolling out one after another like triphammer blows that made resistance difficult.

[Petra]

"I mean-" she brings the object in her hands up between them, "this is pretty important resistance work I'm doing. But whatever, sure. Let's go.. talk.." she says, putting the thing aside on a nearby surface and burying her hands into her pockets. Looking for Korvin to start talking or lead the way.

[Korvin Hikarrin]

Grinning happily, Korvin leads the way back to the couch they'd shared on his first day in the hideout. He even waits until part way there to start talking.

"So thanks for taking a little time. This maybe isn't resistance level important, but I've been thinking a lot about our friend Dhel lately... Like, a lot, a lot... And I really wanted to talk to you about her," he said with a smile, sitting down on the couch.

As the pair moved off to the couch, Jax allowed his curiosity to get the better of him and he moved closer to see what object Petra had fished out of the box.

[Petra]

Grinning happily, Korvin leads the way back to the couch they'd shared on his first day in the hideout. He even waits until part way there to start talking.

"So thanks for taking a little time. This maybe isn't resistance level important, but I've been thinking a lot about our friend Dhel lately... Like, a lot, a lot... And I really wanted to talk to you about her," he said with a smile, sitting down on the couch.

Petra elected to sit in one of the nearby chairs close to the couch. Leaning her head onto her palm as she listened to Korvin, elbow rested on the side of the chair. When he revealed what it was about she rolled her eyes and groaned a little. "What're you bothering me with racerboy?" she asks, a little annoyance in her tone.

As the pair moved off to the couch, Jax allowed his curiosity to get the better of him and he moved closer to see what object Petra had fished out of the box.

Meanwhile as Jaxom goes over to investigate the object..

[Mechanics at Hard, 2 Setback due to condition]

When he revealed what it was about she rolled her eyes and groaned a little. "What're you bothering me with racerboy?" she asks, a little annoyance in her tone.

"Well, since you two are friends, I was hoping you could help me out. Like, things have been going really well, and we have a lot of fun." He chuckles. "A lot of fun, right? But, like... I think that's the problem. Maybe. Like, if we're just having fun... I dunno. Like that could end at any time, and I don't want that." Korvin looks at Petra earnestly, hopeful that she knows something that can help him.

Meanwhile as Jaxom goes over to investigate the object..

He stared at it for a long minute. He didn't recognize the object immediately, but it seemed familiar.

"Well, since you two are friends, I was hoping you could help me out. Like, things have been going really well, and we have a lot of fun." He chuckles. "A lot of fun, right? But, like... I think that's the problem. Maybe. Like, if we're just having fun... I dunno. Like that could end at any time, and I don't want that." Korvin looks at Petra earnestly, hopeful that she knows something that can help him.

"I did not drink enough for this.." she groaned, rolling her eyes. Notably, Petra did not, in fact, drink even when she had the option. "First off- gross. Yes, I mean you. Second off- what would you even expect me to do? Go tell her you're worried she's gonna want to 'stop having fun,' that's.. whatever. I- why am I even here, listening to this?" she asked, but seemingly to herself.

Jaxom hasn't seen one of these in a long while but it's actually an old part for a certain kind of speeder that was pretty valuable back in the day. Quality of this one it's little more than rusted junk.

And.. at that moment Mylar came walking in, "Jaxom have you seen-" he glances, sees Petra and just shakes his head. "Oh, hey that might work.." he walks up to Jaxom and points at the object, "you need that?"

"No, I was just looking at it." he shook his head. "Petra dug it out of these boxes. Are you working on a speeder?"

[Korvin Hikarrin]

"I did not drink enough for this.." she groaned, rolling her eyes. Notably, Petra did not, in fact, drink even when she had the option. "First off- gross. Yes, I mean you. Second off- what would you even expect me to do? Go tell her you're worried she's gonna want to 'stop having fun,' that's.. whatever. I- why am I even here, listening to this?" she asked, but seemingly to herself.

Korvin looks confused. "I mean, just... You're Dhel's friend. And like, I know you and I aren't really close, but I wondered if she's said things about me..." He gestures vaguely, as though it would help bridge the communication gap. Realizing it's not really working, Korvin leans in, voice quieter. "I want to have a real relationship, and it's hard to focus on... Other things," he waves an arm to encompass the hangout, "when I'm... I don't know what. Like, I'm trying to make a plan, and..." He trails off, running a hand through his hair nervously.
