Making the best of it (Drezzie's Early Night day 5)

[Carden Willhol]

Curfews weren't particularly Cardens favorite thing, especially since it made it harder to get around in some of the hours that were good for photography. There was such a thing as making the best of a bad situation though. With no need to wake up early, you could after all stay up late.

Sitting at the bar he took a long drink from his glass before turning slightly to look over the crowd, at this hour it was probably only miscreants around, but you could never tell.

[Korvin Hikarrin]

Though not much of a miscreant, Korvin was hard to ignore as he came through Drezzie's door with a bit of a flourish, letting the door slam a little unnecessarily behind him and sweeping straight to the bar beside Carden.

Ordering one of the on tap beers, he was a long drink into it before selling to take any notice of Carden. Belatedly he tries to be polite: "Oh, hey, uh... guy from the thing. We, um... I'm sorry, we've met before, but I can't remember your name. Photography, that I remember," he says, just noting it and not appearing to expect that made up for forgetting Carden's name.

"Not sure we ever got to the part with names honestly." Carden repleid with a half smile. "Talk went in other directions fr the most part." Picking up his glass he took a sip of his beer.

"That's an easy fix though, I'm Carden."

[Korvin Hikarrin]

Korvin looks genuinely relieved.

"Great! I'm Korvin. Hikarrin. Mostly a racer, but also do odd jobs. Usually for my dad's company." He takes a small drink and looks at Carden thoughtfully. "What do you do? Besides, uh, the sort of thing that caused us to cross paths before?" He glances around the bar, but it appears to be quiet enough -- probably from the curfew -- that the place isn't very crowded.

[Tenzing]

The door swung open and in strolled Tenzing. Drezzie's really was a home away from home. Some days most of his business seemed to take place in here, but tonight he just wanted a drink and to watch the world go by. That grappling hook action earlier had reminded him of the time he and the squad had climbed up some giant droid transports to get inside. The old days. Had they been all that good though?

Caught up in reminiscing he almost didn't see Korvin. "Oh. Hey kid." He waved to the Pantoran and his friend. The guy was familiar from some of the recent resistance ops. Gesturing to their drinks he added: "If you two want another round, I'm buying."

[Korvin Hikarrin]

"Hey Tens," Korvin says with a happy grin. "Always happy to help spend your money, and I'm sure my new friend Carden is happy as well," he points to the other young man. "He's into photography and... other things, I'm sure," Korvin chuckles.

[Carden Willhol]

"Well i'm not into photography, I am a photographer." Carden replied with an amused smile, pulling out his datapad, and pulling up one of his recent trips photos for the pair to look through if they wished. Most seem to have been taken in locations in the badlands and swamps and are landscapes of various kinds as well as photo's of wildlife. One of a white fox like creature may be of special note do to it's quality.

"A round would be appreciated though." He continued with a smile as he looked towards the other man. "I'm Carden by the way."

[Tenzing]

"Nice to meet you, I'm Tenzing." He ordered a round for them and moved around to look at the photos. "Whoa, that's great stuff Carden." Chuckling he added: "Nice thing about work of this quality is: I don't need to visit the damned swamp to see it."

[Korvin Hikarrin]

Korvin makes noises of appreciation for the photos, chuckling at Tens' comment. "Yeah, I'm not much for swamps in real life. You got photos of prettier things? I mean, these are pretty for a swamp, you know? Butt I bet you've got some sweet sunsets over Champalan beaches or something."

[Tenzing]

Tens smirked. "Or ya know, swoop bikes. The kid's one true love." As the beers arrived he raised his in a little salute before taking a swig

"Swoop bikes, becahes, scantily clad women on beaches. Got a bit of all of that, course usually don't take pictures of people without permission. Still I do some work with models and the like for their portfolios." He looked between Korvin and Ten.

Still it seems like it's swoop bikes you two really want to look at."

[Korvin Hikarrin]

Korvin, perhaps a little too cavalierly, chimes in, "I got the pretty girl in real life. And the pretty bike too, actually!" He laughs, lifts his bottle to join the salute and then takes a bigger drink. He smiles widely, thinking fondly of the girl and the bike.

[Tenzing]

Tenzing pointed at Korvin. "The kid's the street racer. Didn’t know he'd found himself a girl though! That's new." He chuckled and took a swig. "Anyone we'd know?"

[Carden Willhol]

"Yeah, you got me interested." Carden replied, tucking his datapad away before taking a swig of his beer.

"I mean you seem pretty happy about it if nothing else."

[Korvin Hikarrin]

"Eeh, uh, yeah," he says, embarrassed but still happy. He clearly hadn't meant to gain the spotlight, but wasn't going to back out once he'd gotten it.

"You probably know her -- at least Tens, you've been around -- she's a Bothan singer, Dhel Dotaivi." Korvin looked so pleased he almost couldn't talk straight. "It's pretty great," he says with a sigh and a beaming smile. The young Pantoran probably couldn't look more love struck if he tried.

[Tenzing]

Thanks to years of training Tenzing managed to maintain a dignified calm. The alternative would have involved beer going everywhere so it worked out well for everyone.

"Uh huh, uh huh. That Dhel Dotaivi, the singer?" He nodded as his internal monologue went to: I'm sure that'll work out well... A curious expression crossed his face. "So, how did you meet?" And internally: Are you even old enough to get into the club kid?

[Korvin Hikarrin]

Korvin makes a face at Tens' tone of skepticism, but it immediately reverts to a smile.

"Yes, that Dhel Dotaivi," he said proudly. "Don't be a hater, Tens. We met that night that Drezzie had a party for his grand baby, and we just hit it off. Three weeks now? And all good times," he said, still grinning a bit like an idiot. "Can't, uh, can't get any better." That was one step too far, and the smiley facade gave way enough to make it clear.

Bothan weren't really something he was really attracted too. Still more power to the blue fellow, a girl friend was a girlfriend after all. "Three weeks? That's a fair amount of time." It was kinda refreshign to see someone still besotted after that long.

"Can't say I've seen her around myself, but from how you talk she seems to be a nice gal." Or maybe not? At least judging from Ten's 'that Dhel', and Korvin's reaction.

[Tenzing]

"Well then, good for you kid. You shown her your other love yet? Must be a race coming up soon." He smiled and took another swig then looked at Carden.

"Yeah, Dhel's cool. Singer, dancer, all 'round entertainer. You should check out one of her shows sometime. Maybe the kid here can get you front row seats?"

[Korvin Hikarrin]

Korvin grins at Tens. "She got a ride on Ruby on our first date. Come on, Ruby's one of my best qualities that I gotta show off, right?" The Pantoran seems almost irritatingly happy again.

"Oh, Carden, Ruby's my speeder bike. Just... to be clear." Korvin looks very serious as he says this, clearly concerned that the photographer might have drawn some other conclusion.

"Anyway, yes, Dhel often performs at the Cave, that's a good place to see her. But also, I'm sure she'll be at my next race... Probably just a couple days, actually. Races been kinda slow due to, ah, increased imperial activity," he says with a frown.
