Full Swing

[Meiyokashi]

Long tables filled with foods, meats hunted from the surrounding area and also those brought in by guests, alcohols of various types and brews littered in casks and mug, and an assortment of other traditionally prepared mandalorian cuisine assault the senses with their pleasant aromas. Mandalorians, both of the enclave and not, rejoice in drink and rambunctious song. Cheers echo through the hall as each of three or more small pit-fights break out in the outer perimeters of the hall. When one ends the contestants clasp arms and offer their boastful appraisals with another soon taking their place.

Lysa, present as a guest, is often well regarded among these folk who find her to be a chaotic whirlwind. Something Dredgen winds up encouraging more than he possibly should. Surrounded by a fair number of Mandalorians both from her own influence and Dredgen's they drink and shout and feast. Notably in the company is Bura who often finds her arm around Lysa's shoulder and whipping the crowd up into a cacophonous roar. While other groups come together and join about the perimeter this group almost never seems to waver from the spectacle.

Meanwhile, in a far quieter corner Dex sits with one of the Salky Raiders. A younger man, about her age, whom seems to have her ear despite the odds. Short dark hair with a thin beard and mustache that are shaven in such a way to hide the fact that he's a late bloomer in that regard. They talk and occasionally laugh, often with him having to cede something to her in the exchange given the force behind her personality. Separated as they are from the rousing of the larger parties and groups they stand out a bit, which makes the one watching them stand out ever more.

Kagr leaning against one of the exits to the great hall occasionally scans across the breadth of the room but returns his attention to the pair frequently. Arms crossed over his chest he plays the tip of one of his knives against his armor absently, seeming a man caught up in thought.

[Raven Cadera]

It was hard not to get swept up in things on a celebratory eve like this. Raven wasn't quite sure how it had started, but she had found herself stuck in a series of arm-wrestling matches with Dredgen, where the loser had been forced to drink down some of the stronger stuff... and well, she hadn't let herself be stopped by just losing once. Or twice. Lysa had kind of egged them both on too. Even if she had become stronger since they first met, the big man still had the advantage, and was still undefeated.

Sheepishly, she decided to quit while she was still feeling good, and stepped aside to let one of the Salky Raiders have a go in her place. Once she was out of clear eyesight of Dredgen, she rolled her arm a few times, feeling the tension of the old injury there.

Navigating the festivities was a slow process, some pausing to congratulate her, while sometimes it was just a matter of moving around without intruding on others whom she didn't know that well yet. Not that she suspected anyone would start anything serious tonight, but respect was still given to fellow warriors.

Spying Kagr keeping a distance, and his attention seemingly focused on someone else, the Cadera woman approached her brother, offering him an unopened bottle of some of the brews available from the tables. "Hey," she said, her tone a little soft, barely standing out against the din of the great hall. "Not much for parties?"

[Meiyokashi]

"Not much," he said, bringing a hand up he tapped the side of his helmet as it was still worn. Not one to show his face to many he rarely took it off, kept his secrets secret as most figured. Though a party often was a different occassion for most it didn't seem to be for him. Giving a nod toward the drink, "Thanks, but I'm not much for the drink either. Prefer to be.. in control," he said the last with a little tension that loosened immediately.

Looking to Raven instead of his quarry he gave her a respectful nod, "Congratulations, by the way. Been with- well, all this for a while but I have never been invited to a proper wedding before. Little short compared to what I knew but-" the sound of his voice changed as he smirked underneath the helmet- "well, it fits," he chuckles, shaking his head.

Ah well, it had been a fair shot to maybe see him take off the helmet. But she wasn't going to push, respecting the her brother far too much to do that. "Mm, I understand," she nodded. Getting drunk wasn't something she had done much on her own. Being in the group... it had given more opportunity for her to let her guard down with them, trust the ones around her.

Not that she had had much money to use on drinking either before either.

"Thank you." Her smile was sincere, her head dipping slightly as she opened the bottle. "It's... well, yeah, as you say, it fits. To be honest, it's the first wedding I've been to as well, believe it or not. But I heard about them back home, and what was expected of them. Just didn't think I'd see the day, let alone my own."

When you'd spend so much of your life thinking only of survival, and of revenge, it had been a saving moment for her to find more meaning to her life - and find more drive for her to fight as well. "What's it like, to what you knew? I mean, I suppose for most, a Mandalorian's way of life moves too fast, but is it that much different?"

Turning her own head, without her usual helmet on for tonight, she took in the scenery of the hall and the people within, catching a glance of Dex in the process too.

[Meiyokashi]

Kagr chuckled at the question, "From what I knew? This is all fast compared to most, and what I knew is pretty slow in the same," he said as he watched her look off, but both their attentions seemed to drift to Dex at the same time as he found the opportunity to do so. Lingering in a thought there for a moment.

"But- that is your wedding gift. You know just a little bit more about me than anyone else here, congratulations," his tone beneath the helmet conveyed the smirk that was surely, and proudly, worn.

"Eh?" Raven blinked a few times, then chuckled as she thought she figured out what he meant, and her head dipped in a couple of nods before putting the bottle to her lips for a quick drink.

"I'll take it. Thanks," her smirk echoed his, though visibly so. Kagr had his odd ways sometimes of sharing about himself, often times a bit too mysterious or subtle for her to get on the first try, but she appriciated it nonetheless.

Watching Dex for a moment, she looked back to him. "Keeping an eye on Dex, are we? Or just curious about who's she's with?" It was a little bit teasing, but innocently so. She knew he had taken to teaching Dex during the times Raven could not do so herself, due to her mission, and honestly thought it was probably good for both of them - Kagr could teach the young woman to fight much smarter than she could.

Kagr held a thinking silence for a moment. Playing the edge of the dagger against his pauldron in along the width of it. Pulling it off to the side he slipped it back down into a sheath rested at his side. Dex, meanwhile, punched the Salky Raider she was with in the arm and laughed. Rubbing his arm with a smirk he shook his head. Kagr, looking to Raven gave her a nod in the direction opposite where Dex was.

"Let's give her privacy," he started walking into the hall just outside the great hall where things where a little more private.

Watching Dex interact with the Raider, Raven felt a sense of pride to see how much she had grown... and a sense of joy that Dex got to have moments like these, where she could kick back and have fun. She truly belonged with the Mando'ade.

Nodding to Kagr, Raven took another sip and put the bottle down nearby before following his lead, catching one more glance behind as she did.

Catching that last glance, it was shared as Dex just looked up from her conversation to notice the eyes on her, seeing Kagr's boot slip behind the wall and then watching Raven herself go. When they were gone Dex fell back into her conversation again but pulled over some food to busy herself a little with her hands.

"Kids full-blooded now, one of us," Kagr comments as Raven rounds the corner with him. Out here there are still the signs of how recently they'd come to live here, stone work that hadn't been fully or completely fixed yet and occasionally there was a standing light attached to a generator where the ceiling lights that run through most of the complex have long since fallen to time. However, beyond that most of the place had been renovated well and with the old generator up and running their little base even has a stable supply of power.

"Not too different from you," he raised a hand with the palm out, "just the truth of it. Both of you have only been with us for a while but.. you were raised Mando'ade, Dex wasn't. I wasn't either," he shrugs, "I know a bit what that's all like. Having to make your own calls but knowing that sometimes there's ones you'll be respected for and others you won't, it isn't easy," he stops, seeing Praxton down the corridor. Turning to Raven he gives a final, "I've been keeping an eye on her when I can."

[Raven Cadera]

Raven shot her a brief but approving smile, before disappearing after Kagr.

"Yeah," she agreed, nodding as she followed his lead. "... Those things are part of what it means to be Mando'ade though, to make your own calls - your own choices. We're not a people who follow blindly." Her tone made it clear the 'we' included him as well. "And I know - and I appriciate it. She's tough and headstrong, independant as well, but having others like you and Dredgen around her, helps her remind her that she's not alone. That she's part of all of this." For Raven, that had been an important thing to learn. And to learn that Mando'ade truly were stronger united.

She saw Praxton too, but continued speaking to Kagr. "Just know that you're respected too. Or at least, I respect you, a great deal."

[Jyrvess Ertil]

Off to the side, still the outsider even if one tolerated and useful, Jyrvess watched and sipped a drink. She had planned on leaving before the wedding, there was much work that needed to be done on Bellionas. But Raven was a friend and this was her day, Jyrvess figured the revolution could wait for a party...there may be few celebrations for some time after all. Besides, Jyrvess found the whole ceremonial interesting in her own analytical way. It was rather different from the weddings she had been to back on the core worlds.

The impromptu arm wrestling had brought a chuckle, and the contest itself proved more then just brute strength when the former spy had taken to really observing it. Of course all the strategy in the world was not going to make up for the differences in muscles if Jyr had thought to give it a try.

After another quiet moment she drifted closer, intending to give first Raven then Praxton her congratulations on their future lives together.

[Meiyokashi]

"She's Mando'ade," he said, with that ring of higher meaning to the words. Giving Raven a respectful nod in that turn. "I appreciate that. There's quite a few folk here already that look up to you in their own way, you know. Experience isn't everything, but it helps," he chuckles, giving a nod over his shoulder behind him to reference Praxton who still wasn't quite there yet. "But let me get away before I stick out like a sore thumb."

Giving Raven another nod, "Congratulations, again," and then promptly walks away, passing Jyr on the way and giving her a pat on the shoulder in the process.

Praxton, meanwhile, made his way to his partner and stood with her. "Kagr? Chatty?" he smiled briefly, shaking his head. Beard a thin 5 o'clock style.

[Raven Cadera]

"Thank you." Nodding, she gave Kagr a friendly bump to the shoulder with her hand as he left, and she turned to fully face Praxton. It was hard to think that others were looking up to her too... it meant she had to work harder, to not disappoint.

"Believe it or not, it happens. One in a blue moon or so," it was hard to not smile widely as she looked at him. Riduur. It was still a thought to get used to, but in a good way.

"How are you?" standing beside him, she allowed herself to place an arm around his waist. "All these people isn't too much for you?"

[Praxton]

"Not yet," he lets a small smile on. Resting his arm across her back and on her opposite shoulder. "I find my ways to escape for a bit when I need it," he gives a nod toward the way he came from. "All these corridors to get lost in. Someone needs to make sure the guests haven't gotten themselves stuck somewhere."

"And you?" he says, looking to her with that quirk to his brow.

[Raven Cadera]

"It's..." she took a moment to just enjoy the brief interlude they had found, "... more people than I would've liked. But, I don't mind. Even if I do look forward to it being a little quieter. Or just us two."

A year ago she would've hit her head in a wall from saying that out loud. But she had had a year to grow into this, and that he returned her feelings and they were in fact married did a lot to help quell those old feelings of embarrassement.

"The others seem to be having a good time, so it works out, I think."

Raven hadn't noticed Jyr up ahead, her attention focused elsewhere for the time being.

[Jyrvess Ertil]

Jyrvess smiled as Praxton joined Raven, the pair made a cute couple...in that overtly dangerous Mandalorian way. When Kagr patted her shoulder, Jyrvess turned, "Mind a little company. I think you have the right of it and it would be best to leave the two newly weds a moment of peace."

She turned to face the passing warrior.

[Meiyokashi]

"I just don't do crowds," he chuckled underneath the mask. "Come if you want though. Can't promise I'll be all that entertaining," the smirk, although not visible, still bled through into his tone.

[Praxton]

"It's..." she took a moment to just enjoy the brief interlude they had found, "... more people than I would've liked. But, I don't mind. Even if I do look forward to it being a little quieter. Or just us two."

[Claymore Wren]

Claymore walks by the little group of friends, regaling another person of a time when he was on a crew racing small 4 person spacecrafts, "No, I was supposed to be the engineer, not the navigator. I had a little something to get a little extra power and the person that took over engineers... Well, he starting screaming and there was a 'little' fire..."

Clay nods to Raven and company as he goes passed them.

"Any reason good reason to celebrate is a good day for most Mando'ade," he gave the idle comment. Glancing over toward Jyr and Kagr given the positioning of the two as they seemed to share words. There was a thought that dashed across his brow but he wasn't planning on roping anyone in. Looking back to Raven with the reserved warmer smile, "Later tonight. Everyone will be sleeping, drunk and sleeping, or far from here by then."

A silent question was formed by her eyebrows, seeing the thought on his face, but what the thought had been was something she forgot quickly. "Later tonight." She echoed the words quietly and used the hand on his waist to pull him close, settling for stealing a kiss for now. Time could not move fast enough, and yet, she'd wish that tonight would last forever.

"... For now, let's go rejoin the others, riduur. Or still more patrols left to do?"
