Dhel winces as the flying Weequay goes *splat*. "Yeah, I can see that might be rare. Think I'll stick with singing and stuff, oof." She pops the top off her beer with her claws, noting that it chipped the polish on them. They'd need a new coat before that shopping trip anyway.

"Oh? New to town blue guy, or oldtimer? There's a few Chiss and Pantoran families around. Twi'lek in that shade too here and there." She grins. "You invite him out here too? Sticking together and all?"

"Old timer I think, which is weird because most of the people with names are newcomers. He was kinda cute though, Corin? Kowran? Korrinth? Something like that, young Pantoran. We were exchanging relationship advice and fries."

Dhel's eyebrows lift. "Korvin? Has a racer bike?" She grins and lifts her beer before taking a long drink. "I think I have the blue solidarity thing down with that one. We stick together just fine."

"Friendly dude, he was all sweet on this new girl called Dhel....huh, that's kinda like your name now I think about it."

"Ruby's the bike. Fitting name." Then she laughs. "Well yeah, Dhel is me. Short for Dhelih. Nobody much uses the full name."

"He's kind of doing the whole racerboy package, you know? Fast bikes and adrenaline, and a fast middle city girl to cheer him on and make some use of all that energy after a race." She pulls her legs up to sit cross-legged on the slightly wobbly seat, still grinning. "It's nice while it lasts."

"Oh good for you two! He certainly seemed very...enthusiastic? Are you gonna go down to the races and do that thing where you wear a shirt wrapped around your waist and hold up placards? I've never had a thing with a biker...well, maybe not biker, but a thing with a guy who bikes before."

Nara reaches over and starts flicking through the channels until she can find a bike racing stream going, it looked like a crash highlights real from the last big race as rider found new ways to fly violently off their steeds

"Now I feel bad, I was totally gonna give him some tips but I think I just ended up telling him about compassion and caring for your partner and all that boring emotional stuff."

"Enthusiastic..." Dhel thinks for a moment, "yeah, that's a good word for it. At least about racing, and not being part of things in the Upper if he can help it, and getting to the clothes off part of conversation. So I mean, I'm happy to take some of those tips back if you still want to share them."

She winces at a particularly bad, and slow-motion, wreck, shudders and turns a bit to keep her eyes on Nara instead. "Was he particularly into all that emotional stuff?" She sounds a bit doubtful.

Nara starts demonstrating with much ligament stretching.

“He was actually pretty good on the emotional stuff. Like, you know, he was focused more on the physical initially. But then there was this soft interior we reached. Pretty good for a guy who rides bikes, honesty.”

“People are always gonna try and tell you who you can and can’t be with. And sometimes they make a good point like ‘you can’t date him, he’s a notorious terrorist’. Lost a really nice pair of earrings over that whole thing. But sometimes it’s for a lame reason like ‘you come from different socio-economic strata and social norms mandate you mingle with someone in your income bracket’. To those people I say.”

The Chiss makes an obscene gesture with her toes as she painfully tries to wiggle her leg back

“So like, if you do break up with him. Make sure he knows it’s purely personal and not for any other reasons.”

A pause

“You know, actually maybe lead with the socio-economic stuff.”

There's a moment as she processes that. "Yeah, that's softer. Not that anyone ever seems to really buy the 'it's not you, it's...whatever' line. I mean, usually it's me getting bored. But saying so just mean they're going to launch into a lot of ways in which they could be more exciting...and that's just messy." She grins. "Like...galactic terrorist? Super interesting, probably very exciting. Meeessssy."

She shrugs. "It's not so much that I'm not willing to buck the system or whatever. It's just...I don't think he even realizes what that's going to be like. And why should he? That'll suck, and my track record for sticking around is not great, so no reason to go through all that for nothing." Her eyes go distant as she takes another drink.

"I don't think he's run into a lot problems that couldn't be fixed with money, or things he couldn't have once he wanted them. He's way nicer than a lot of folks in the same boat, and that counts for something. But a lot of them are really...messy...when you're the thing they want and you don't want them any more."

“You might not be wholly wrong about him. Although I probably don’t know him as well as you do... he did order me fries though. But all of that sounds like you aren’t ever planning to settle down... which is awesome! You can be like me!”

Dhel raises one hand "Still totally young over here. It's pretty decent. And...no plans of entering politics." She gives a firm nod.

"So not settling down yet. Don't know about never...or ever." She grins, "Anyway, I don't think anybody could be like you, you're pretty unique. Did you plan to...well, do whatever it is you're doing now? Or were you gonna settle down somewhere with a not terrorist?"

“Oh yeah. Still totally young... very youngish totally.”

“I like to refer to myself as an ‘independent contractor’, although of course I’ve been called some really nasty other things by people. I don’t imagine settling down anytime soon.”

As if to demonstrate she wiggling energetically on the couch
“I just got that itch to keep going and doing, you know? A month here, two months there, maybe even a whole year depending on his secure the prison is. But otherwise I got that wander lust... although I suppose eventually I won’t just be not young... I’ll be old....”

Dhel glances around the place, thinking about it all being abandoned next year, and how much it would confuse someone stumbling across it "Sounds interesting...but kind of lonely moving all the time. I know I was pretty bored on the ship back from Kamda on my own. Plenty of crew to talk to and all, but that's not really the same as folks you know to hang out with."

"Oh come on, there's got to be some folks who are just as excited about...um guns, and explosives and the thrill of dodging traps on the way to the front door. Big galaxy! Maybe one of those Mandolorian types. They are really into the violence and weaponry, right?"

Nara changes the channel a few times until it’s just playing the sound of loud blaring sirens before switching it back.

“Mandalorians? No way! First you got the constant helmet hair, allergy to magnets and trying to corner the bounty market. You know, bounty hunting is a complicated profession but they got everyone thinking you gotta be this stoic jetpack jockey.”

Nara starts into a long rant which at points touches on the sight, smells and sounds of all Mandalorians everywhere.

“I’ll give you that they’re obsessed with violence and weapons as, if not more, than me. And that’s definitely hot in kind of a bad boy way. But otherwise it’s all aesthetic. I want someone who I can wire detcord with, someone who will steady my missile launcher as we aim it at an imperial transport. And who’s also really good looking, smart, funny, hard working, reliable, spontaneous and who has the exact same taste as me.”

Dhel listens to the rant, filing away a few choice phrases for later use as she finishes most of her beer. "So Mandos are more fling material than a keeper kind of thing, it sounds like? Otherwise, yeah, I can see that being a tough list to check all the boxes on."

“Something like that. Maybe if it was suitably torrid.... but they gotta take the helmet off in bed. It’s just too weird otherwise. They could be sticking their tongue out or snoring or something and you’d never know.”

Firm head shake
“Not that I’m against costumes in those circumstances, but the helmet is where I draw the line. And I don’t draw a lot of lines, I’m kind of against them in general.”
