(D5, LA) Examining the Merchandise

"Hmm, a good eye to what's set off well by my coloration. Thank you." The white would be most striking, but Dhel finds the engraving within the purple stone fascinating. The blue is charming, but the heart...hmmm. "Assuming there's a mirror, is it acceptable to try them on to decide?"

"Of course," he directs her to the side, moving a large cloth along a bar to reveal the mirror that goes up the length of the wall but has the girth of little more than a lithe person.

She smirks up at Raven as she lifts the first one. "Any professional opinions on which one is more likely to inspire theft aimed my way?"

Dhel briefly wonders how many customers use the mirror when picking out their guns, as she holds each of the shiny gems in turn up to look at. Intriguing as the colored stones are, the white are a constellation on her darker fur. She asks Sinclair, "Are there any differences in functionality and price between these models?"

Hearing her name, Raven snapped out of her brief reverie fantasising about about a particular high-end vibrosword. Looking at the three items in question, she considered it for a moment.

"This one," she indicated the one with white gemstones, "seem more understated, and would be less likely to attract grabby hands, I suppose. But I think the purple one would look good on you. The colors, they would go well together - the purple draw out the colors of your fur better." At least, that's what she thought from her amateur-skill with painting.

Dhel nods. "Yeah, those are going to be a bit of a tough decision." But perhaps she'll hear something about the pieces that changes that. Or they'll be out of her price range. She suspects that they're not that level of expensive, or they'd still be in the case after that credit check.

"For the white.. 2250 credits would suffice," he indicates the blue, "would run you 2750 credits," and the prize of the bunch would be the that magnificent amethyst gem. A true beauty like that would be priced fairly at 3500 credits for the piece. I must agree on the sentiments shared, though I believe Miss Dotaivi would make an excellent showing of any of these beautiful pieces," he says, clasping his hands together with a smile.

Dhel sighs very slightly. "I think I'll have to set aside the purple for the moment then, If my career takes a solid leap..well, we'll see if it's still around to come back to. If not, I'm sure there will be something equally lovely." There were probably stars and politicians who had more than one of these, designed to go with every outfit, but she didn't expect to have that kind of money anytime soon.

She considers what else she may need, but almost anything else would be available elsewhere and probably with less markup. "I don't suppose there's any room on the prices of those?" She looks to the purple as if there was any discount that was likely to make it reasonable.

"I am a businessman first.. what might you suggest?" he raises a brow, the hint of a grin hidden beneath a mask.

Her usual offering isn't terribly businesslike, so she opts to lead with something more professional. "I don't suppose you're throwing any social events that could benefit from a performance?" She takes the chain of the purple necklace, letting it run through her fingers. "particularly when a bit of a boost makes the performance more memorable?"

And then...even if not business, he was still sentient, and Dhel was well aware of the way her diminutive height and plush fur spoke of delicacy, and the contrast offered by a hint of sharp teeth and even by blunted claws. So she took a deep breath, while appearing to consider what else she might have to offer, one glittery blue claw tapping thoughtfully at her jaw. "I'd offer a preview for you to approve the material, of course. I can read a Middle City crowd and pull out half a dozen tunes on the fly, but I'd honestly prefer some...guidance on what flies for an Upper City event."

Raven paid close attention to the exchange, mostly out of interest in picking up better social cues herself, which Dhel seemed to have plenty of.

That blue jewel was rather pretty... she didn't think she'd be the type to like it, but the color was nice. The blue reminded her of Praxton's armor a little bit.

Maybe it would be a nice buy, even if she'd end up owing some money...

Eyes looking passed her she could see him perform the mental calculations. When he finished he smiles, offering a palm turned toward the ceiling, "Six hundred credits off your purchase.. and if the opportunity ever arises for you to say where you purchase your goods?" he says, the raised brow and pleased grin showing that leading nature to his words.

"Well, where else would I find something this high-quality?" Dhel smiles quite sincerely with a one-shoulder shrug before lifting the purple-gemmed Cascader from its display, heart hammering as if expecting someone to shout at her any second for handling something so expensive. "Nobody would believe me if I said I shopped elsewhere," she said with the control that still let her find a high note after half an hour of nonstop song and movement. She was going to need a drink after this, for sure.

"And you, dear?" she asks, looking up at Raven, still avoiding her name and adding an extra layer of confusion as to their relationship or Dhel's level of eccentricity. "Need something pretty? Or deadly? Or maybe both?"

....Dear....?

While Raven appriciated not having her name lobbed around in these circumstances, being called 'dear' was a bit unexpected for her. "I...uh..."

One awkward clearing of the throat. It seemed Dhel had found some way of getting through her normal oblivousness.

She looked from Dhel, and to the very-smiley salesman. "... You wouldn't happen to have some of these in more discrete models...? It would help my job in diffusing tense situations, but such fine jewelry, I'd be worried about it."

"Excellent," he smiles broadly when the deal is made. Looking to Raven with the direction of the conversation his smile couldn't get more broad but he does clasp his hands together with glee.

"Of course.. what type of garment does the miss wear in these types of situations? Tailoring a choice to your particular circumstance would be my absolute pleasure," he says, that smile coming back on as the words made their mark.

Don't say beskar. Don't say beskar. "Heavier clothing, the armored kind." Raven rationalized that by Mando-standards she wasn't lying. She spent more time in her armor most days than in regular clothing anyway. It was practically daily wear.

"Armor.." he gives Raven a look over, measuring her appearance. Now his smile was smaller, more.. clever. Raising a hand, "Not to worry.. I believe I understand. Though, if I do understand correctly on what you hope to use this for.. I would need to be clear, as a respectable salesperson, on just how this wondrous device works," he says with a hand waved to Dhel, asking for her assistance in showing off the use of the device.

"As you can see.. the device works on the features of a face mostly, enhancing them- allowing you to customize them. Though it does aid the use of one's voice to become more clear and charismatic," he looks to Raven with purpose, "without a face visible the device wouldn't work.. as effectively."

Dhel had taken a fraction of a step back, dialing down before being caught by surprise at being asked to demonstrate. It's honestly a decent primer for her as well, since she hasn't had a chance to look a the manual (if there is one).

But she does offer, helpfully, "It works with masks on stage a bit too. You can work a bit more expression out of them than just tilting into the spotlights can do. But masks are a bit like...an alternate face, usually."

Raven didn't like that change in his look. It usually meant people were either going to scam her, or knew something. Making a show of calm, she casually crossed her arms across her chest, looking like she was considering what he was saying carefully.

The input from Dhel made her nod, and she gave the Bothan another look over. Wow, it really did make her look more... soft? That coat really did look soft.

"So it would work then, as I understand," she stated, maintaining a cool professional tone.

"It would- but," he smiles, clasping his hands together. "I would not sell a rifle with a grenade launcher built into it's model to a customer who abhors the use of such devastating and powerful devices. At least, not without dutifully informing them of the full qualities of their sought purchase and confirming they do wish to make that choice. After all, I am here to create happy and recurring customers," he dips his head toward her.

"I understand," she nodded, then cracked a smile of her own, "and hey, if you do sell something like that, you'll probably get a returning customer in the future when I have a need for an upgrade of that caliber." Hah, get it? Caliber!

Uncrossing her arms, Raven glanced from Dhel, and then back to Sinclair. "I appriciate your professionalism, and I still wish to see the models available."
