Tyllia assumed a meditative position on the floor of her little unit at the motel; holding the lightsaber in two cupped hands.

"Alright Spirit, let's talk. You and I."

She had tried a simple alteration to the hilt the day before and had found herself inexplicably able to do so. It seemed obvious what was going on; as Deonis had warned, the spirit was excercising too much control. She was going to have to deal with it, somehow. Convince it to relent, perhaps. Or excise it completely if it insisted on trying to control her like this.

She closed her eyes; and started meditating; attempting to start a dialogue with the spirit.

She felt a presence.. someone was paying attention.

"Who are you?" She asked, a question that perhaps should've been asked much earlier.

Either way, if she was going to convince or even excise this spirit, she should first learn as much as she could about it; and accomplishing such a task would no doubt be more difficult if she started this conversation off with hostility over her inability to modify the blade.

[Meiyokashi]

There was silence for a long time.

I don't remember.

I was.. someone once.

Now I simply am.

That wasn't helpful at all. At least if it had retained a strong sense of self, it might've made it easier to reason with it. Still, that didn't necessarily mean there were no answers to be had. Nor that negotiation was impossible.

"Did your presence in the swamp cause its corruption, or was it already there when you came to this world?"

You seek answers blindly...

Stumbling through like a child.

It's.. irksome. the words, she felt them in her own mind. When the entity felt annoyed she could feel the emotion leak slightly into her own and meld with it.

I do not remember, she felt annoyed for having to say.. no, hear this.

"Do not blame *me* for your failure to remember, spirit," she said, annoyed, "I have purpose to my questions, and it is in your best interest to answer them as best you can. Another question then. The blade. Why do you resist my attempts to improve it?"

[Meiyokashi]

Arrogance..

A long sullen silence, cold lingering within her being.

It is mine.

You meddle where you ought not.

You believe import where there is little.

Your purpose does not interest me.

"*You* are long dead, spirit. You do not even remember who you are. You do not even *have* purpose anymore. You are simply clinging on long past your time. I have offered you the means to see the galaxy beyond your decrepit old swamp, but I can *rescind* this offer if you persist in this stubborness. Show me you are more than just some angry shadow incapable of proper *thought*. Show me you can understand the situation you are in."

I understand.

What you seek.. the answers, they are older than you can possibly comprehend.

"You might be surprised at what I am capable of comprehending. Or what I am capable of. Speak your answers then, Spirit. And speak your purpose. If you can not do this, then I will assume you have none, and then you must become subservient to *mine*, or fade away like the empty shade that you are."

Arrogance.

Arrogance.. will be your undoing.

Mine will come, in time.

Speak your purpose.

She resisted the urge to call the spirit out for being a hypocrit. That would not prove productive at all. She also resisted the urge to taunt it for having already forgotten what she had told it before. Although to be fair, she had been vague back then.

"You do not know the state of the galaxy now, I suspect. The republic is no more. The Jedi have fallen. The galaxy is controlled by an Empire now. Created and ruled in secret by the Sith. And I expect this has happened many times since you were alive. A never-ending cycle between these two orders, push and pull over and over. My purpose is to end it. To end the Jedi and Sith both."

[Meiyokashi]

You have seen, well as I, that it is all meaningless..

There's a dark chuckle with that, one that almost seemed to affect her as well- finding it funny without being able to be certain why. Feeling a little cold to her own touch.

Many before you have tried.

"Tell me about them then, if you know so much. Perhaps what knowledge you retain can still be put to use."

They all failed.

But if you insist..

Should Tyllia insist the being would spend the rest of the morning telling her the tale of one of the many who tried to accomplish this goal, and failed. Given more time he would return to a long line of different names and people, different places lost to time.

[Can note on extra timeslots she spends listening, rather than craft all the stories I'll occasionally bring in useful bits for your current situation where/when it matters best as I can!]

She would indeed listen for as long as she could stomach in a single sitting. Both to learn useful lore, and maybe also to develop some sort of raport with the spirit. Hopefully that would go a long way to overcoming its influence in regards to the blade itself.

[Can't spend the whole morning as I only have MM free after this, but let's say she'd listen in the MM and return to it later and listen in both the MA and LA?]
