"Hey, no, I mean, we did just tell you your husband died. He was... a cool guy." Manny lied fairly smoothly. "So, ummm, is there anything you need?"

He looked at Nara. "Yeah, that sounds good. So... I'll be good cop! Yeah." He nodded. "I guess that means you get the cool lines. Maybe we can take turns."

Manny started to rise, but then paused. "It kinda sounds like you've got a thought about who might have done this." He said gently. "You can tell us. I promise. We won't tell anyone!" Well, he was gonna tell Jyr, at least.

She looked at Manny somewhat shocked at the response from him. "Oh no. Nobody comes to mind." She said with a soft smile. "Just...if it was the Imperials, as you said. There's only...well, there's only one place it could have come from. Not hard to connect things if you know where to look." There was still a sense of hesitancy in her voice, like she couldn't trust you entirely. You were just strangers in her home, after all.

She took a good long look at your smile and started to laugh at you. It was a good minute of solid laughter as a few tears streamed down her face, clearly struggling to keep it together as she did it. She wiped away the wetness from her eyes. "You...you really are terrible at this. This good cop, bad cop thing. I've seen some terrible holovids in my time about buddy cops, but you, sir, just really lack the talent. You are just too sweet a person for it."

“Yeah, that makes sense. The imperial contact at the medical facility would be the one who’d report anything... or maybe try to cover it up.”

And turning back “Do you know where they are? We can investigate them... even if we’re rookie cops.”

Noszewii nods her head in response to Nara, and begins to calm herself down. "Well, they'll be at the Medical facility, I'd imagine. Couldn't tell you where she lives, but her name is Rylla Mardin."

Manny gave her a smile. "We'll check it out. And hey..." From his jacket, he produced a handkerchief... which as he pulled in it, turned out to be a whole string of them, different colors, tucked together." Finally, they reached the end, and a single white handkerchief fell out. He caught it before it hit the ground.

"Here." He said, offering it to the widow.

Kindness done, he and Nara went back to examine the office.

Noszewii looks at Manny with disbelief, but accepts the kindness all the same. She leads you all into the next room, a clean, sterile room filled with datapads, notes, and other assortments of things that would clearly tell that was organized and thorough. Probably a few specs of dust from its lack of use from the past few weeks, but otherwise it is well maintained.

She stands in the room with you as you would begin your search, dabbing her eyes with the cloth she was given when she was sure you weren't looking.

No secret passages opened up from what you can tell as you started to pull things, but there were lots of journals, medical information, and super-sciency stuff around you. You were both completely out of your depth here.
