Swamped [D7, EE. Deonis' House]

[Raven Cadera]

Having been given directions by Deonis to his safe place, Raven travelled with Phroth to the lower city. "So... this Deonis character. Warrior, always wears armor... not a Mandalorian though, just to be clear on that. He's with the Resistance too, been here on Bellionas a couple of years and knows the core group we're working with." She explained along the way.

"Was talking to him about maybe going hunting in the swamp, mentioned you. Then he... kind of seemed to know about, you know. Your specialness. Said he could guide us in the swamp to fight whatever's there, but wanted to talk more privately about it. I assume it's because he might share your special skill."

[Phroth Lissken]

"Actually... we met briefly, the other day in the Badlands. I was doing some practice and it drew some attention." He nodded. "Only really talked about our shared similarities, not so much the resistance. Good to know." He nodded as he walked next to his friend, cloak drawn tight.

"So he knows knows."

[Raven Cadera]

"Knows-knows. Yeah, that's a good way to say it, I suppose."

Raven placed a hand to her helmeted chin. "... By the way..." her tone shifted quite seriously for a moment. "... Not that I think he's someone to be worried about, but... last night, Julo and Arwen were attacked. By one of these Inquisitors. Myself and some others were in the area, drove the bastard away. But they're still out there."

A pause.

"But without their weapon, at least, so that's something. But, be careful, alright?"

[Deonis Harik]

Deonis opened the door and let them in the dwelling was small but tidy with military precision. The bed while not new and obviously too small for his large frame was made with exact corners and there was no clutter just a chair, table, the crate, the bed, and a door on the left the whole thing maybe 15 feet by 15 feet.

He nodded to the pair and motioned for them them to enter, he locked the door behind them and sat down on the bed leaving the chair and the crate if the other two wished to sit.

Once he was settled he undid the clasps securing his helmet and removed it. Crimson skin and burning yellow eyes were revealed to them for the first time, it was a sign of trust to reveal his face and these people felt like they could be trusted.

He set the helmet down next to him and looked up at them "So you're looking to go into the swamp?"

[Phroth Lissken]

The Karkarodon had no recognition of what Deonis' species was. It was a galaxy of trillions, and he hadn't seen much of it beyond his assignments during the War, the Temple, and vague memories of Karkaris.

Phroth waiting for Raven to choose a seat, while still watching Deonis. "I've been trying to learn about it before stumbling in. The place feels like darkness, like the fear and anger of the war. The whole planet is covered in that feeling, save a few places."

Raven stared at Deonis for a moment. She had no clue what she was even looking at, except an alien she had never seen before.

Then took off her helmet, showing the same courtesy. Phroth had seen her many times without it, and Deonis had seen parts of it, but she did indeed look younger than she acted, with short black hair falling just beneath her chin. In a way, there was something attractive about her.

"For a while, I suspected maybe you were a clone, Deonis. Way to prove me wrong," she smirked briefly, tucking the helmet underneath an arm as she chose the chair to sit in. Not that she was a lithe little thing, far cry from it, but she figured the crate would support Phroth better.

"If removing what's in that swamp would be better for the people of the planet, and the Resistance, I'm all for it."

[Deonis Harik]

Deonis grinned a little revealing sharp teeth "we can discuss what I am after we talk about the Swamp if you like." It would likely be easy to tell Deonis was more than a little uncomfortable at the moment, nervously picking at the bed sheet he sat on but subtly.

He looked to Phroth "darkness isn't always bad." He took a breath "in this case it is. I have spent weeks studying the deep swamp. There is an ancient and powerful evil that lives there. It likely is an ancient Sith trapped their by an attempt to live after death. It wishes to come back. I fought it once already in my mind, it said I was a threat because it couldn't control me and I barely managed to push it out of me." He explained.

"But there is another force there a great black beast with piercing red eyes. I believe this is separate a more natural manifestation of the dark side, much like the small fox that resides in the grotto." He looks to Phroth who might know what he is talking about.

[Phroth Lissken]

"I've seen the beast in a vision, shared with the Fox." His mouth wss a hard line. Darkness not always being bad was concerning, but he pushed it back for now. His arms folded across his chest.

"That beast is all consuming, ever hungry and angry." Looking between the pair. "That's what has me so worried. But if there is an ancient Sith spirit? That would likely be agitating it a the more. Taking care of a sympton won't stop the problem."

[Raven Cadera]

Raven hooked the helmet to her belt, and looked at the two 'special' folks with her arms crossed. While she didn't really understand it as such, she paid close attention to what was being said.

"Is it something that can be defeated through force of weapons and will then? And not only..." she wobbled a hand, "magic?"

[Deonis Harik]

"Yes the black wolf hungers like a predator, it is in its nature. But I don't think it is the problem I believe the Ancient spirit is. I do mean ancient from the old old republic when jedi and Sith fought wars thousands of years ago possibly before Bellionas was even settled. It is dark and powerful. A dark *unnatural* power festering here for that long. It Ruins the balance. Make your objective to cleanse the spirit and see if it helps the planet. Give it time and if balance is not restored then hunt the black wolf." Deonis while keeping his cool was clearly passionate about the wolf not being the issue.

He looked to Raven "as to how to kill it, I have no idea."

Raven glanced between the two of them with a thoughtful look.

"So... since you know all this, does this mean you were ... uh, in that Special Group of Special People?" Then remembering they were in a safe place. "The Jedi Order, that is?"

[Deonis Harik]

Deonis paused "not, exactly." He said haltingly he looked to Raven "I told you the Empire stole everything from me, that much is true but not the same way it took everything from Phroth here." He took a deep breath "I was kidnapped from my people when I was still a youngling barely 4 years of age. I was kidnapped by the Emperor, a curiosity of a race thought dead long ago. I was trained by the inquisitorus. I was to be the Thirteenth and final Brother."

He took a deep breath "But I never finished my training. I saw through the lies and propaganda and a Clone guard helped me escape. That was about four years ago and I've been on the run ever since."

[Raven Cadera]

Her brow creased in thought. There was a lot to absorb, and she could sympathize with losing one's childhood young, and living on the run.

"... Do they know you're here? An inquisitor showed up last night, at the motel. Myself and a few others fought the bastard off, and I destroyed their weapon. Were they... after you?"

[Phroth Lissken]

"We're in agreement. If it was just the Beast, that's the problem. Here, no, it's this spirit." He nodded to Deonis. "We'll have to address it." Looking to Raven, and then to Deonis again.

"I'm sorry that... that they did that. You're out, that's good. To make your own Destiny and trust in the Force." He grinned, though it qas somber, with understanding.

[Deonis Harik]

"I had it better than some. Vader was much harder on them, no harm was to come to me. The training methods for the inquisitors is....brutal." He said shaking his head and taking a breath.

"But past is the past, for now. We're here to talk swamp." He looked at Phroth "do you know how to actually fight a...spirit? Presence? Hard to describe it."

[Phroth Lissken]

The Karkarodon shook his head. "Not a clue. All I've got is my trust in the Force, and my connection with life, feeling the threads between beings. Spirits, specters? Never trained for that, wasn't... really a concern when you're just trying to fight a war." Bitterness there.

"I... could try and commune with my old Master? Maybe she'd have some guidance."

[Deonis Harik]

Deonis nodded "could be worth it. Curious ability to talk with the dead. Useful." Deonis certainly knew there were many times he wished for guidance but had not one to turn to.

"I am also afraid there is a chance I won't be able to go with you. The last few times I have tried to enter I was turned away by the energy in the swamp and haven't managed to pierce through. I will go as far as I can though."

[Raven Cadera]

"Could be worth a shot at least," she nodded to Phroth. "Hmm... I could try asking a librarian-friend about it. She knows a lot so, hey, she might know something that was in the Jedi libraries?"

Something about Deonis words, or rather how he said it, made her feel a bit more sympathy for him.

"So the swamp is keeping you out somehow?"

[Deonis Harik]

he nodded "The Swamp regularly turns people away, usually you have to be sensitive with the force or with someone who is to be able to make it to the deep swamp. Lately I have been being turned away as well. You become confused, turned around, and end up somehow where you tried to come in."

[Phroth Lissken]

"Is it the Swamp, or the will of the spirit?" He asked outloud, as if that would help him divine an answer. The Karkarodon sighed, wondering. The Grotto was bathed with Harmony, could this system have a place that was truly opposite.

A pit of despair? He shuddered to think.
