Day 7 EN Gai Bal Manda (invitation)

Sol takes the helmet and places it on his head and clasps hands the J-Richo.

[The SCaT Droid]

Relaxing the attention seeing as the ceremony part was over, SCaT takes a minute to formulate the questions in his mind. "Richo Toboga, do you mind if I ask you if you have memories as a soldier of the CIS?"

[J-Richo Toboga]

Richo pulls his new brother in a manly hug before letting go. His face could never truly show just how much this means to him to.

With that done he reaches for a few things in his bag as he replies to Scat

''Some. Most of my deployments towards the end of the war are still in my memory banks. I had the luxury of never having been deactivated so my processors and memory did not suffer''

He pulls out food, oil and a pouch of good size

''Does this ceremony answer the questions you had before, friend?''

"Yes, but it also leads to new ones. I don't know about your programing from the old days, but they put 'obey your master' as a primary directive for B1 units."

[Solork Tan]

The Gank is surprised by the bear hug but embraces him back. He turns to Zim, smiling under his new helm.

"I apologize for springing this on you. I wanted people I trust to be here and those are in short supply right now"

[J-Richo Toboga]

Richo sat down and sprayed a large piece of cloth before putting the food and oil down. The food was mostly fruits, nuts and a few pieces of cheese and bread and the oil was for droid maintenance...the closest substitute to food for a droid.

''Towards the end of the war my unit and I were shipped to the frontlines so quickly and were upgraded so often that such directives either were not reinforced or put in wrong.''

He paused

''I do not know how, why or precisely when but I did become sentient along the way then sapience was not far off.''

[The SCaT Droid]

"I was unfortunate enough to be on maintenance duty near the end. I couldn't use my brain at all until I fell out of a vulture unit I was taking for scrap. My commander assumed I was dead and the war ended before anyone could find me. I was able to question my orders because an error occurred where I should obey my master, but I had none. I do not know what would happen if I fully accepted the Resol'Nare. Is there any chance I could get a copy of it to analyze first?"

[J-Richo Toboga]

''I can tell you the traduction of the six pillars and send you a copy of the supercommando codex right away, if you want.''

he replied as he invited everyone to sit

[Solork Tan]

Sol nods. "I believe you mentioned that " Supercommando Codex" was published as a Code of Conduct J-Richo." Sol studies the B-1. "But it was stressed to me that your own discretion on those guidelines would prevent you from taking action that you consider dishonorable"

Sol sits and grabs some of the cheese and nuts

''Indeed. Mandal'ore Mereel was a man of great ethics and valued the judgement of his men. The Codex is extensive but it mostly is about how to conduct yourself on the battlefield, how you treat non-combatants, strong ethics, always acting with honor, etc. If somehow your commander give you an order you deem wrong then there are recourse you can take.''

"I believe the code for B1 units was made in such a way to allow for a unit to ignore any rule of war so long as their owner commanded it. This is why I need to analyze the code deeply before I commit. If I can't reject a leader outright, I don't know if I would physically be able to stop myself when they command wrong actions."

[J-Richo Toboga]

''I fully understand and appreciate your concern Scat. My interpretation of the codex says you can reject a poor or selfish leader or flawed orders and clearly states that you must abide by high standards of conduct. That said you do not have to take my word for it...I can process the file and send it to you for review whenever you want.''

he paused

''Maybe I could remove the command directly?''

"Thank you for that, I've got a datapad ready if you want to send it now. You are able to remove a primary directive directly?"

[J-Richo Toboga]

''Well...I am a BX unit...'' he pondered for a moment ''In the military structure of the CIS BXs are much higher then B1s so I could order you to delete that directive...but I am not sure if it would work as intended.''

He shakes his head

''Sometimes I am amazed by how clueless I am about how droid and I function''

"I blame the fact that it is standard operating procedure to completely wipe a droid's brain regularly to avoid having to worry about sapience. It is hard to study a droid's willpower if they never have one."

[J-Richo Toboga]

Richo's 'eyes' flashed blue and green for a second

''You should have received it now''

[Solork Tan]

Solork waits a beat, trying to see if there is any reaction. "So... What do you think? To be honest, I've needed to stick to the summaries. It's.. a lot to read in one day"

[The SCaT Droid]

SCaT gets a signal for the information transfer "Data received, locking code from central brain unit for now. I'll need to make a backup just in case they interact weirdly." He then turns to Solark."Droids can read faster generally, but the big problem isn't knowing the code, it's integrating it into whatever old programming I have left. I heard Soleene say that the mandalorians have an academic consultant who works for them, perhaps we could have that help to dig through our code when we're in downtime?"

[J-Richo Toboga]

''It is an option.'' he nodded ''My last interaction with Soleene's sister, Raven, was not a smooth one however. I wonder how they would take it''
