Phroth frowned, seeing the crimson saber ignite. Closing his eyes, he tilted his neck one way, and then the other, stretching first. Then his shoulder rolled back, and the cloak was thrown off. The armor beneath his cloak worn, but comfortable. The scrawled and faded symbol of the Jedi on bracers.

"We were meant for more. The War... we lost when we started fighting it. Now, it's scars haunt us still." Quickly from his belt the long, curved hilt of bone, wood, and leather was gripped. The green blade ignited, nearly as tall as average beings. His stanfe moved, adopted into the Ataru Technique.

"We can still back down, Allura. It doesn't have to be like this."

With blinding speed and preparation in her stance Allura launches forward, her blade clashing against his and forcing him back a step as it unsettles him. Pitched in the test of their skill in that moment she leans in, toying with him a little as the hues of the clashing blades lights up her face revealing a violent smile, "Even now.. this is my favorite part," she leans back away from the blade and with deft skill turns his saber and moves in for a devastating strike. Further knocking him from his balance as he feels the searing burn of a lightsaber against his flesh.

His parry was clumsy, and he wasn't able to absorb the brunt of the blow. The Karkarodon wouldn't last long, he knew. Ataru was all about quick, decisive strikes. He moved with her, focusing on piercing her defenses, even as the connection between them, the thread of life and death, hung in the balance.

He roared, striking back, unable to score a clear hit, but he aimed to disarm her of her weapon.

Though he was unable to manage past her defense he was able to overwhelm her with the fierceness of his strikes and the daunting size of his form, striking down with that fury he managed to knock the blade from her hand and kick it away. Looking to the side quick as the blade went scattering toward the edge of the cliff she looked to him with a smile. Leaning backwards into a somersault she landed back on her feet some distance away. Reaching out with her hand and the force the blade came back to her, whipping it out to the side as she ignited it once more, a grin.

"That was a dirty trick," she retook her stance.

Phroth said nothing. His eyes focused on her, feeling their connection. He moved quickly, doing a somersault, green blade flipping in the air as he moved to strike again, the movements of Ataru rusty, but coming back to him.

The blade came down in an overpowering Death Blow, cutting off a limb. His stance set, Phroth breathed heavily.

"Yield." His eyes focused, no coursing emotion, other than sadness.

[Allura]

As the blade came down, it sliced through her arm and Allura fell to her knees with the blow. Cloak falling over her head as she looked down and held the space her arm used to be. Arm resting in the sand beside her in the dirt. There was silence for a second, and then the area grew cold. Inhaling deeply she sprung back to action with a swing that Phroth was able to avoid, slowed by the pain throbbing through her body, as she glared at him.

Laughing, a low and almost disturbing laugh as she fueled herself with the pain, "I'm not mad.. Phroth," she glared at him from underneath her hood. Almost begging him to strike again.

She had swung at him, even with the missing limb. The Karkarodon rolled arouns her, both hands on his curved hilt coming around and delivering yet another horrific injury, deep tissue damage.

"Yield, Allura. There's still time." His voice was level, sadness there.

[Allura]

Allura screamed in pain with the strike, seething in her rage but when she looked up to him she could only calm, smile.

"There's always time Phroth," she says, a sorrow entering her smile as her eyes calculate the moves she needs and in a quick and deadly slash she lunges forward. Biting through the pain she's endured before and a thousand times over. One deft slash across the chest which in the surprise knocked Phroth from his feet and to the ground behind.

His massive frame hit the dirt, even as he tried to parry the blow. His head slamming back against the ground. Fingers loosened from the lightsaber, the hilt rolling away slightly.

His breathing was heavy, chest ragged. Conscious thought was gone as he lay there. Exhausted, the sudden blow knocking him out. He couldn't move, a grunt of exertion, before the lights went out.

[Allura]

Hearing him hit the ground, his breathing, Allura stood on the other side of him. Raising her head up the hood fell back and she felt the warm air brush against her sweat coated cheek. It was uncomfortable. She hated this planet. Turning around she walked back to Phroth, he could hear her steps as the world around him was slowly fading from exhaustion. Feeling the touch of her hand against the side of his face as the corners darkened. He could feel her pained breathing as she lowered in close, "Rest.. you'll wake up among friends.." she met his eyes and smiled just as consciousness left him.
