The hospital is under attack! By Gonks! I mean, you couldn't say that this place wasn't deserving of it (allegedly), but there were people here in need of actual medical help. Call it luck, serendipity, or the will of the Force, you happen to be in the area when the rockets first hit the building. Have a bunch of strong people outside defending this place from entry, but rockets launching into the building do make things difficult. We got sick and injured people in here, and time is a factor. However, the most important thing you need to realize is that you can'tsave everyone.

Just save who you can.

This event will allow up to 5 players to join, though someone may choose to make multiple rolls in this thread.

You're here to ensure that the civilians inside are safe. Quick thinking is going to make sure these people are going to get out. Use whatever skills you have to ensure people get out of here alive. The context must make sense within the situation (Astrogation will not help you get out of here, for instance.)

Each check will progress up the ladder of difficulty, From Easy to Daunting. Once a skill is used, it cannot be used again for the remainder of this event by anyone. In addition, starting at the Average check, there will need to be 3 checks made with with All Challenge dice. This represents the rockets hitting the building. On a Despair, you were caught in the blast, taking 14 points of wound damage (soak does apply). If a Triumph is rolled in addition to the Despair, it is will negate the effects of the blast, allowing you to narrowly escape. Otherwise, a Triumph will count as two successes. Despair will not count as failures. Advantages and Threats will be used for boosts or setbacks for next roll at a 2:1 ratio.

Force Powers that apply to the context of this situation may be used instead of rolling a dice and will negate the need to make a check, as well remove having to make one upgraded check. Be aware, however, that you are using Force powers in a Imperial friendly environment and you could be caught doing this.

Rewards:
The Empire never forgets its friends and loyal citizens, and for those willing to sacrifice so much to save these innocents, you will be commended and rewarded for your efforts. If the total number of successes Each success will build up to a higher reward at the end for those who contributed.

If, however, there is a net failure, you couldn't do much to save people, but the Empire recognizes your sacrifice in a impossible situation. Each failure will add up to a reward as well.

When the blaster bolts started flying near the hospital, Aanli started moving. She may be more academia these days, but she was still a doctor, with field medic training besides. It was her duty to help.

Zim had been there before, and she was often in the Lower City looking out for the people there. That, and she had hoped to reach a peaceful resolution with the Gonks...

So when word started spreading of an attack near the Clinic, she was really sad - but also one of the first to rush to help.

Lassa found herself at the clinic communicating with a doctor on behalf of Dr. Novar when the world came to an end...

Aanli stormed onto the scene and tried to take charge of triage, as the situation was a mess. Unfortunately, the previous 'in charge of triage' was more worried about staying in charge than actually getting the situation in order.

Lassa and the head administrator reacted as the first blast shook the hospital.

Thinking quickly she turned to the administrator, “You need to get your orderlies to move the people out of here as quick as possible... you’ll lose all the doctor’s research if this devolves into madness. You have to listen to me...”

Her words seemed to move the administration but her words toward the scrambling mob were drowned out by the noise of the battle and trampling feet throughout the hospital.

Zim was close by and saw Lassa's efforts at getting the administration to organise things and especially at calming people down... but, understandably, two rockets hitting the hospital was enough to make many get thrown into a panic. She had originally planned on helping organise people to leave, but with the administration's efforts directed towards this, restoring calm to the crowd while the others made an effort to herd them off the clinic seemed more important.

So she started moving around, getting from one frightened crowd of patients and coworkers to another. She kept her breathing deep and focused as she did so, reaching deep inside for a feeling of tranquility amid all the chaos... and tried to convince them to leave, calmly.

... partly by drawing into that sense of peace, extending it... and sapping the will of others. Sapping their will to run, rush, get to the exit first - and at the expense of others. It would make them calmer, would make it easier for them to get out more quickly.

There was a definite risk someone around might notice what she was doing. And it was maybe not the most respectful way to do it... But it would save lives, and, in her mind at least, help keep peace and balance in the long term.

So it was a risk worth taking.

Thru due diligence and some natural (and unnatural) skills, you all manage to save many of the poor civilians caught up in the crossfire. Still, some did not survive, and even still, it is quite possible you ended up saving many Imperial spies and assets thru your efforts. You'll may never know for sure if what you did today hindered the Rebellion or not, but you can at least stand tall that, at this moment, you did the right thing.

The battle continues to rage on outside, but at least this day won't get any worse with more bloodshed.

This droid turned action hero makes sure to jog over to the blown up parts of the building and descend into the space looking for survivors. His infrabinoculars making it simpler as he doesn't have to move rubble to see people, he can just sense their heat signatures. "If you've got any rope I can set them up on the roof and you can get out that way if you need." He then tunes the comms to the imperial frequency and gives his coordinates to get paramedics to the location faster.

As you transmit the information, you begin to hear the sound of blasters going on outside, mixed in with ballistic weaponry. Then, all of a sudden, there comes a long bloodcurdling scream from it. Fortunately for you, you don't have any blood.

You tune into the proper frequency and pick up all sort of chatter about what is going on outside. Troop movements, details of the arrivals of more men to aid against this. You properly transmit the information, of course, but it may be some time before any rescue transportation arrives, due to there currently being a attack. Your call was very important to the Imperials, and you are given some assurance that help will arrive to you when it can.

Sounds like they've still got other problems for now, like stopping more rockets from hitting a hospital hopefully. SCaT begins looking around in the rubble filled rooms for anything he could tie to the roof to make impromptu ascending tools. (Survival roll or fluff?)

Alright, so it looks like SCaT has the supplies he likely needs to get a few ropes going for the lucky folks who can still walk. Now to change comlink frequency to the hospital prospective and try to figure out how to get the wounded out

Dr. Aanli Ven, respected doctor and academic and loyal citizen, gave her information hurriedly, but kept her attention to treatment and evac, and when she had a moment texted work why she was going to be a little late.

Lassa would spend whatever time she could ensuring that Dr. Novar’s research materials would not be lost in the hubbub. She’d relay her details to the Imperials on site and report whatever she could to her boss as quickly as she could.

Zim, meanwhile, kept her attention to helping others get out as easily as needed, and providing emotional support where she could and felt most needed. She was no stranger to trauma, and she knew this would be traumatic to many, but she hoped some kind words and some sense of peace and calm would at least make people bear the brunt of it all with less pain...

... her name, however, was not something she felt comfortable giving at the moment. If someone asked, she thanked them for the attention, gave her name just as "Z", said she was often around the Middle and Lower City, and even suggested they might reach her by leaving word somewhere in the Restaurant Alley, but soon excused herself due to the urgent situation.
